A meditation on love, bonding, and mortality. My lyrics were inspired from listening to my fiancé talk about missing loved ones during holidays, and how she feels being the lone child after her entire family has passed on. The narrative folded in with the themes of space, time, and eternity on my new album WE’RE GETTING CLOSER TO THE SUN. Being musician and artist "since ages", the last two decades and all the developments in digital music broadened my interests and activities in doing music actively and passively. Not being shy of any genre (OK, leave off some Punk and Extreme Metal derivates) I engage in composing, arranging, mixing and collaborating. 

Oh, and I do all my artwork and designs as well. And as you may notice I regard AI as a friendly helper.

I have been walking the earth since the
early '50s. I am an ex-mill-rat,
ex-(Calumet)region-rat, ex-chemist,
dead-mathematician, ex-programmer,
musician, composer, earth-walker.
I have two musical directions, I play,
perform, and teach traditional Japanese
classical music for the shakuhachi
(an end blown bamboo flute), and I play,
compose, and perform experimental
electronic music. All the electronic music I
compose and perform is and can be done
in real-time (i.e. I don't use multi-tracking
or computer manipulation for my compositions).
Whenever I record anything, either electronic
or on the shakuhachi, it is done in real-time
just as it would have been done on the stage
or in an intimate setting.

1810 Sound is one of the oldest netlabels, founded in 1997 in New York City.  It was intended as a successor to the East Village indie label Quixotic Records which had folded that year.  The internet was still in its infancy but it was clear that digital distribution was going to be the future (also way cheaper). 

Conveniently, it is also the name given to the mobile sound recording unit used by the bands and individual artists that released music for the label. Over the years it’s included every type of technology we could get our hands on (the cheaper the better).

The result of the last 24 years is a seemingly endless bounty of experimental music and sound recordings from nearly a dozen artists. We carefully select a precious few from the vault for public presentation, given as freely as possible depending upon the ever-changing nature of technology and the internet.  Why do we do this?  A very good question. Is any of this accurate or true?  Another reasonable question.

Entertainer, songwriter, and “Singer at Large” Johnny J. Blair is known for his brand of “pop music with a twist,” influenced by Americana, British Invasion rock, old school soul/r’n’b, psychedelia, and punk/new wave, with melodicism breathed by classical, gospel, jazz, and world music. 

As a solo acoustic act or when fronting a band, Johnny engages an audience. He was called “a white James Brown” by Brown’s legendary drummer, Clyde Stubblefield. Johnny’s current itinerary includes performing in assisted living homes for people with disabilities and dementia: “Music goes through the brain into places where math and language don’t reach. It heals, and it makes a difference.”

Since the 80s, Johnny has issued full-length recordings to a global audience— from the “new wave concept album” DOOR IN THE WATER, to the soulful masterwork FIRE, to the bare-knuckled acoustic “agitpop” of TREADMARKS, to the “Ziggy Stardust meets PET SOUNDS” of GRATEFUL to the glam-tango tinged masterwork I LIKE THE STREET (with musical support from The Badlees, Eric Biondo/Beyondo, and Mike Garson, David Bowie’s pianist).

Johnny has worked with a range of acts—most prominently with Davy Jones of The Monkees (“I learned valuable stagecraft from David”). Johnny played and worked with Jones for 20 years, and he was the touring bassist/vocalist with The Monkees 45th Anniversary Tour of the UK and USA. Other artists Johnny has played with are John Bechdel (Ministry), David Cassidy, Buddy & Julie Miller, and Al Stewart (“Year of the Cat”). 

For 2019, Johnny on the beat with fresh material and a new album in the works, WE’RE GETTING CLOSER TO THE SUN. He says, “I’ve played the Royal Albert Hall, CBGB’s, Disney, The Fillmore, Las Vegas, Mabuhay Gardens, the Tokyo Billboard, holy temples in India, desert islands, Caribbean cruise ships, churches, prisons, garages, biker bars, and picnics, but I’ll really hit it big when I play for you!”

love the dark, sad, experimental and hazy side of things, hypnotic loops and damaged sounds. massive horror geek. not without a sense of humour. partner in crime with Shelley and Loren.

if you're questioning why or how i'm able to upload on a frequent basis, simply put - i have A LOT of time on my hands at this point in my existence, a wealth of music/sounds to draw upon, and a decent collection of software to make things (e.g. both the synth and fx arturia vst collections). i'm not just auto-generating ai pieces ad nauseum, at the same time i have nothing against using ai in the creative process, but not as an outright replacement for creation. i really think the witch hunt over it all is a bit ridiculous, fueled by the greed pig corporate media companies mostly. 

one thing i've learned about making at least a little bit of money from streaming my music beyond measley penny scraps, i have to upload frequently and i've been experimenting with reuploading/reposting my tracks for better play counts (for now), if even it only results in cutting costs.

Pasquale Giordano, aka low.liet, is an Italian musician and producer, Apulian origins, born in 1993. An early approach to music: passionate about Hip Hop / Rap records (Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., West, to name a few artists), but with a great desire to embrace different instruments and form two bands with which he records rock demos. The path from the guitar to what happens "behind the scenes" of the artistic process is full of musical influences that led him to graduate in 2016 in Audio Engineering at the Accademia del Suono in Milan. This is where low.liet begins producing, recording and managing a collective of rappers which he follows under the pseudonym of “sQualo ATK”. In 2017 the meeting with Francesca Andrisano and the beginning of a musical collaboration, which will see the light in 2021.
