Rick Carbonell’s love of electronic dance music was born in the skating rinks of Tampa, Florida, where electro-funk, freestyle and Miami bass music reigned supreme during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. He taught himself how to mix music at the age of 13 using a cassette deck and a belt-driven turntable he borrowed from his parents’ home stereo system. Later, his affection for the genre was solidified even further during the infamous Florida breakbeats scene that dominated the local airwaves and clubs in the 1990’s, and he would regularly spin this signature style of breakbeats at various local venues and events. Now, after an over 20-year hiatus, Rick Carbonell has taken his passion to the next level, producing progressive-style original tracks on labels such as Stripped Recordings, Capital Heaven, Prognosis, Morphosis Records, 20K Freaks, Phreak Recordings and Vantablak.

Hello everyone, my name is Matze, I'm 45 years old, and I have a deep passion for electronic music. For many years, I have been fascinated by the world of beats and sounds. Music has always been more than just a hobby for me – it's a passion that I want to share with others.

For me, there’s nothing better than the feeling of spinning records. I started with vinyl back in the day and once had a proud collection of over 4,000 vinyl records. Unfortunately, they were severely damaged by a flood. My sets range from Trance to Techno and House, covering different styles – there should be something for everyone! 🙂

For the past 13 years, I took a long break from DJing, but music never let go of me. Now I'm back and ready to get going again! I'm excited to create new sets, get people dancing, and make unforgettable nights happen. Producing is also a big part of my passion.
