I joined the party in 1899...Of course, then I was still a young man , but after four years, I had already become a member of the Central Committee..there, in the Central Committee, was not only Lenin, but also other old Bolsheviks [including] Trotsky.... So we all worked together until 1903 . In 1903 , at the Second Congress, we broke up, when Lenin, and some of his friends insisting that we needed to act as a dictatorship within the party and outside the party. We did not agree. But with over the next few years we tried to maintain unity , hoping for a reconciliation. In 1912, our line finally parted company
