"Jason Russo and I grew up in neighboring towns. He was in some great bands like Mercury Rev and Hopewell. I worked at the local record shop. I knew of him but we didn't actually become friends until kinda recently. When I sent him the album he said he wanted his band Guiding Light to remix 'Death Valley', and I thought it was a perfect fit," explains Klein. "The result is a hypnotic, hazy little gospel. We thought it would be good to collaborate on visuals for it so we, along with photographer VK Red and Tara from Guiding Light, all contributed footage and Tara edited it together."

The single (remixed by Jason Russo) comes off My Jerusalem's second full-length release, Preachers, which was—astoundingly—recorded in under three weeks by Spoon's Jim Eno (Heartless Bastards, Poliça, Black Joe Lewis). Preachers is available now via The End Records.
