By the skin of our teeth, we made an April episode. 

This one follows another theme, songs to walk, stroll, saunter, amble and meander to. Find yourself always reaching for the same tunes when you’re walking home or somewhere because you don’t have enough time to think of one? This is for that time, when you hit the pavement either with or without a destination in mind. Not for rushing to, but tunes that give you time to look up and notice a new house or tree you’ve never seen before. 

Spanning a range of tunes, as ever. Telling unfunny jokes, as ever. 

So plug in, put your headphones on, lace up or slip on and have a mosey. The suns out and you have a soundtrack so you might as well.

Darren Young is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He is the founder and lead singer for the band “Brigades” (Pure Noise Records). Now Darren’s pursuing a successful solo path while still reuniting with his band from time to time. In 2023 he released his solo LP “Heart Break Hiatus” and his been on tour promoting the album. In late 2024 he dropped his follow up solo LP "Painting a Monster" with singles "Painting a Monster, Astronaut, Face It, Juventus (feat. GaTa) and All for Nothing.

He has been produced by Paul Leaviett & Gene Freeman (Machine), Devin Patrick "King Killumbia" (Def Jam), Additionally outside of Rock, Darren Young has worked exclusively with many major artists such as The Game, GaTa, Gorilla Zoe, Bezz Believe, Pastor Troy & more.

I come from a musical family, my dad was always singing and playing something after a Sunday lunch time. I also had some good friends in bands at the time which helped inspired me to play. My first band was with some friends at school; I’d already had poems printed in the school magazines, so writing lyrics was OK for me.
