and every time I try to escape this cycle of constant reminders about my past

I end up realizing that people are right about me and that I will never change

this realization only makes me sink deeper into my own thoughts
resulting in a constant episode of self deprecation that never seems to go away

to finally see the water as blue as I paint it
to feel the sun emit warmth on my skin
to be able to breathe without my broken lungs
