I wanted to make Plaits sing with his actual voice using vowel and speech engine ;) A bit different than ambient music for sure. That's the beauty of exploration, you never know where you will end ;)

D-D-DANCE with Me!

First time using the Roland 104 to sequence Make Noise XPO and STO as A and B sequences. Sending XPO triangle Stereo into Mimeophon to Qpass and STO to Aeon Low Pass (moog like) to Tan(h) limiter. Made a simple drum beat in background with Metron running crater into LEDRover Drive into the Tan(h) limiter, a Fracture clap into a ton of reverb and Crucible hihat pitter pattering in the background. Sending the whole mix at various times to Magneto for tape delay effects, Starlab for reverb, and Quasar for stereo field manipulation back into the WMD mixer. 
Mixer goes to stereo V76 to Pultec Meq5 (Peak 1000-5, Dip 2k-4, Peak 3k-5) and Equp1a (boost 60k-4, atten 3, Boost 10k 4 atten 3) to ADL 670 compressor then to Ampex 350 tape running on 440 transport 1/2 in ATR mastering tape

A study of modulation effects on Make Noise Mimeophon.
Sequence on Metropolix has 4 key shifts using a mod lane (Pitch Pre).
Stereo PWM sources (switching from Dixie2+/Rubicon2 to XPO and back twice), passed through QPAS LPF in stereo and then into Mimeophon.
Envelopes are from Intellijel Quadra.
PWM on all VCOs, stereo secondary filter peaks on QPAS, and FLIP, HOLD, ZONE, COLOR, and HALO on Mimeophon modulated by Frap Tools Sapèl, øchd and Batumi advanced waveforms.
Extra reverb from Valhalla SuperMassive.

Disquiet Junto Project 0591: The Loneliest Number
The Assignment: Record the first third of a trio.

Last summer, after an accident, I had to stop playing double bass. This is my second attempt to get back to the instrument after months of silence, I thought this could be a nice opportunity to share the process and slowly start to get my hands on it to see how it feels and how my body responds to playing.
Focused on improvisation, gesture, silence and number 7. 

7 seconds of music are followed by 7 seconds of silence. 14 seconds of music are followed by 14 seconds of silence. 21 seconds of music are followed by 21 seconds of silence. Repeat and then decrease time until the last 7 seconds of silence.
Loosely based on recording pre-count at ~ 60.50 bpm 
No timer was used during the process, so there may be irregularities.
I only played my double bass open G string with a bow.
Added some slight Mimeophon delay-modulation then a bit of chorus + phaser + tape effect (encoderaudio Ferro) in Ableton Live.
I kept volume low in order to make it possible to work on it and mix further things for future use.

Inspired by the ethereal and mysterious atmosphere of @caustic_gates disquiet0591 (https://soundcloud.com/caustic_gates/disquiet0591-patchouli-wash) I tried to patch something complementary.
I took a pre-existing melody, recorded single notes with a 0-Coast in a Morphagene reel. 0-Ctrl is controlling Morphagene’s playback and splices with pressure gate output and Mimeophon’s feedback and color with pressure cv output. Added auto filter and Vallhalla Plate in Ableton Live. 60bpm

Harmonics are at the root of sounds as we perceive them. Their series and the possibilities given from the interaction with a filter inspired me to work with the first eleven harmonics of the series starting from the note A3 (A, A, E, A, C#, E, G, A, B, C, D#) I gradually added notes, raised filter cutoff, resonance and the volume of one of the two filters I used to get crescendo .
Today, 27th May is also Drone Day. Happy droning y'all!

I started off recording the series with 0-coast into Morphagene as a series of splices; due to the limits of range of 0-coast’s oscillator I transposed the last 3 notes of the series down one octave. Morphagene output went into QPAS’ low pass and smile pass outputs. Low pass output goes to right channel of XOH. Smile output goes into Mimeophon in green zone, then XOH’s left channel. 
As for modulation there are 3 sources: one sine LFO coming from Blue Marvin osc 2 set to minimum value, then into a mult that goes to QPAS Radiate left in and to Mimeophon Rate in and µ in. Wogglebug sends Smooth to a mult to go to Qpas Q, !¡!¡ and Radiate right inputs. QPAS freq 1 input is modulated by 0-coast slope circuit passed in its Voltage Math section and triggered by Wogglebug’s Int Clock out.
In Ableton I just added a bit of Shimmer to give some sparks.

I'm a lab-rat. gear-head. Composer of sonic explorations. Seeker of tone and frequency. Patcher of modules. Twiddler of knobs. Bender of strings. Programmer of sequences. Lover of all things that oscillate, resonate and reverberate.

My main instrument is a Eurorack Modular synthesizer comprised of approximately 70 modules. My favourites include modules from Frap Tools Instruō, Intellijel, Rossum electro-music and Industrial Music Electronics. I use a 16-channel Line converter from nw2s to get modular signals into my DAW.
My main polysynth is a Sequential Prophet Rev2.
Production tools are Ableton Live and Push 2, with Universal Audio and Focusrite AD converters;  Eventide, and Lexicon hardware; and plugins from Valhalla DSP, Plugin Alliance, Eventide, Softube, Arturia and Roland.
I also compose with electric guitars and basses, Toontrack Superior Drummer, and various Brazilian samba percussion.
