And then he reminded us: "Others do not understand that here, we are perishing."

This song is about letting go of the grudges you've been carrying. Not because the people who hurt you deserve it—but because your time is too precious to waste on hate. We're all running out of time. Every tick of the clock is yours and mine.

🔹 Meaning Behind “the Twelve Lights”

In Buddhist philosophy, twelve nidānas (links) describe how ignorance gives rise to suffering and rebirth.
The phrase “twelve lights aligned” symbolizes the illumination of these twelve causal links — seeing clearly how each arises and ceases.

They are:

1	Avijjā — Ignorance

2	Saṅkhāra — Mental formations

3 	Viññāṇa — Consciousness

4	Nāma-rūpa — Name and form

5	Saḷāyatana — Six sense bases

6	Phassa — Contact

7	Vedanā — Feeling

8	Taṇhā — Craving

9	Upādāna — Clinging

10	Bhava — Becoming

11	Jāti — Birth

12	Jarāmaraṇa — Aging and death

When the Buddha saw their dependent arising and cessation — the full turning of this wheel — he attained enlightenment.
So the “twelve lights” = twelve insights illuminated simultaneously.

The Buddha said: "He abused me, he struck me, he defeated me, he robbed me"—for those who dwell on such thoughts, hatred is never appeased. For those who don't dwell? The hatred settles.

This song is about that record player in your head—the one that keeps spinning the same old hurt on repeat. You didn't choose what happened to you, but you do choose whether to keep rehearsing it.
