Starting with 80's-sounding library music, expanding the spectrum to minimal-synth and finally entering the tunnel with flavored oldschool-alike body music, mixing new and old material. The mix has a specular end, which reminds to the first track, because love is a circle. Or a cycle. Enjoy!

disco al dente #022 - Happy Violetime (Valentine's Special by Violet Poison) (IT)

Active in various scenes since the 90’s, from days as a grafitti artist, to the emergence of techno in Europe and buying his first Akai 950 and Atari ST-1040, Milan-based Andrea Riberti is a live artist and producer with his roots cemented in early rave culture, drawing from the wake of Post Punk, Industrial and Body Music. 
As a project, Unconscious surfaced in 2013 to further experiment within electronic music, acting as an outlet to communicate raw, post-industrial sounds.
Earlier works under the alias were aimed within the techno field, with traces of EBM, such as 2016’s “Codex Gigas” EP on Berlin-based Advanced, and 2017’s sophomore album “Chaos Theory” on Moscow based, NEN Records. Proceeding releases on SARIN’s X-MG, Marc Ash’s Blacksilk, Berlin-based Instruments of Discipline, AREA Z and Detriti Records, began to define an evolving course, closely identifying within a new wave of EBM, cutting raw and nostalgic sounds with sharp modernity.
Unconscious’ live and hybrid performances are aimed at the fully body, moving dancefloors with a charged and sonorous strain of dark electronics operating on the fringes of body techno, acid, wave and italo.

Veleno Viola Podcast #10: UNCONSCIOUS

Born and raised in Miami Florida, DJ Dino has been a staple in the South Florida music scene, and a proponent of Synthpop and Dark Electronic music since the mid 80s and into the more recent revival scene. Dino is behind the long-time running show SYNTHOLOGY 101 Radio, and has taken up residency at Miami's dark underground party "Malicia Goth Nights", making it one of the hottest monthly events in the South Florida Goth Scene. Here is where he serves his latest discoveries and the most cutting edge in goth, minimal synth, upperwave, post punk revival, darkwave, EBM, italo, and resurrected obscure coffin classics for the baby bats and darks alike. As a side note, Dino (formerly of Formula Redux) is the current drummer for Nutrix Recordings and Mannequin Records recording artist "Life In Sodom", who were a big part of the golden age of Goth music in the 1990s, and have been actively releasing music since 1991.

Here’s an impromptu one-hour session created in the week leading up to Hurricane Milton's impact on Florida's west coast. Departing from the artist's usual meticulous approach to mixing and selection, this set includes tracks often featured at Malicia Goth Nights events in Miami. The music strikes a balance between moody and danceable, capturing the essence of what the South Florida scene loves to hear and move to.

Drawing inspiration from the atmospheric melodies of the 80s and influenced by bands like Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, Boy Harsher, and Black Marble, Silva creates electronic music with ethereal minimal synth sounds, dreamy soundscapes, industrial elements, pop sensibilities, and experimental touches.

Through his deeply melancholic drive, he invites listeners into a world of profound emotion, where dark thoughts, beauty, hope and introspection coexist. Jeff's artistic evolution pushes the boundaries of his craft and expands the horizons of his own unique sonic universe.

9039 is the first music project from Creative Director Jeff Silva, who started to practice music when he moved from Sao Paulo to Amsterdam in 2018. He bought his first bass guitar and MIDI keyboard to cover songs from Joy Division and Interpol.

The melancholic reverie of Jeff Silva illuminates the captivating journey of a highly sensitive person who uses his music as a vessel for introspection and emotional expression.
