A Sírás egy intim, lélegzetalapú hangút, amelyet teljes egészében a furulya természetes rezgése hordoz. Ez a hangszín közel visz a forráshoz: minden hang mögött ott van a levegő mozdulása, a belső feszültség kioldódása, majd a finom emelkedés.

Ez a darab nem a megtörtséget mutatja meg, hanem a megtisztulást.
Egyetlen hangszerrel, mindenféle effekt nélkül született, közvetlenül a pillanatból – ahogyan a könny felszabadítja azt, ami bent rekedt.

A furulya tónusa egyszerre törékeny és fényes; rezgése finoman vezeti végig a hallgatót egy érzelmi átmeneten, ahol a fájdalom lassan békévé oldódik.

A fényhang itt a csenddel együtt szólal meg.

I Measured the Skies now available on Afterday Audio. 
Shane Krause’s Conjunctions studies explore a spacious soundworld where overlapping pointillistic loops of individual notes interact with each other in constantly changing and surprising ways. Sparse and open sections where notes from different instruments happen in isolation give way to hocketed melodies arising from the interplay of the different parts and moments of harmony happen when the notes from multiple instruments coincide.
The Conjunctions Studies were written as an exercise for Krause to explore some ideas around atonal harmony, repetition, aleatory and generative musics. They are dedicated to the German astronomer, astrologer, physicist and writer Johannes Kepler, whose work on planetary motion described the elliptical orbits of stars around the sun and whose first major discovery was inspired by the periodic conjunctions of Saturn and Jupiter.
The melodies and chords which emerge from the interactions of the different parts are not unlike the occurrence of constellations, arrangements of stars which are cosmically distant from each other but which appear, on the curved plane of the night sky to be familiar shapes in simple outline.
