Redefining the face of music, JackTheVicar (aka Jack Perkins) has decades of experience under his Gucci belt. Singer, rapper, producer, live performer and Bagpipe extraordinaire are just a handful of titles that Jack has acquired in his time and are a testament to his musical diversity. 

Born in the outskirts of Nigeria at the young age of 14, he started work in his local church. Here he learned to speak English by reading scraps of an old bible that was being used as loo roll, after the Jehovah Witnesssents sent over 2000 copies to his village that only had a population of 19. 

Jack moved to Abuja, in '97 where he worked in a small record shop selling discount CDs. It was here that he found his calling for music. After work he would take home disks and experiment with them by scratching and melting the plastic to create unique sounds. He would often bring them back in to show friends and colleagues who would give words of encouragement such as “What the fuck are you doing?” and “Stop breaking our shit!” However, Jack was not deterred by this, and continued to experiment until he was fired from ths job 2 weeks later.

"From Da Hut" has been my focus for the last 2 decades. I wanted to see what dedicating myself entirely to a single project would look like." He explained in an interview with local Nigerian newspaper. Later, when he was asked if he had any advice for other aspiring musicians, he simply replied.
