She Is Beautiful

An 8-minute epic about the fragments of memory. "Half a Smile Left" is a centerpiece from the concept album "Adelheide's Wisdom."

Inspired by the image of a burnt group photograph, the song explores the bittersweet tragedy of an incomplete past—a half-smile that is both a precious treasure and an open wound.

Musically, the song is a unique fusion: a powerful rock ballad whose fragile verses evoke a baroque minuet. Delicate, harpsichord-like guitar melodies, an oboe, and strings meet a massive, emotional chorus and a dramatic climax that pushes genre boundaries.

A monumental soundscape that tells a story of loss, defiance, and the indestructible power of what remains in the heart. A song destined to conjure a sea of glowing lighters and cell phones at a live concert.

Ein 8-minütiges Epos über die Fragmente der Erinnerung. "Half a Smile Left" ist ein zentraler Song aus dem Konzeptalbum "Adelheide's Wisdom".

Inspiriert vom Bild eines verbrannten Gruppenfotos, erkundet der Song die bittersüße Tragik einer unvollständigen Vergangenheit – ein halbes Lächeln, das zugleich ein kostbarer Schatz und eine offene Wunde ist.

Musikalisch ist der Song eine einzigartige Fusion: eine kraftvolle Rockballade, deren zerbrechliche Strophen an ein barockes Menuett erinnern. Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - Zetsubou no Minuet

Another fun outing with new wave guitarist and producer Les Chappell. We really enjoyed setting my Welsh valleys disco rap to a heavy metallic soundscape.

The dance movement for this symphony is an up-the-valleys disco, offering a more realistic prospect of girls and romance than the usual bus stop, canal bank or pilgrim mountain path. In my day, such discos would be established by some youth action agency (the council and/or the chapel) as a way of getting fighting boys off the streets and sometimes last into a second week before being closed down for spectacular heavy industrial gang violence.

Dunque, al Pio Istituto, oltre all'attenta selezione del personale tra gli esponenti delle più meritorie e tradizionaliste associazioni del paese —come la “Fijji de Vòtan ONLUS” e la più moderata ed insinuante associazione di promozione sociale “Rompiamogli il Culto APS”, per citare le più prestigiose— si persegue anche il recupero e l'esecuzione delle forme musicali più classiche e consolidate.
Disgraziatamente, in attesa che si deliberi sul superamento degli oppressivi cavilli legali che limitano la libertà di espressione, le esecuzioni dei più maschi e incisivi inni in repertorio sono al momento riservate unicamente ad esecuzioni private; dunque, in attesa che si legiferi in merito, tratto dalla raccolta 'De Musicae Pallosae' di Gion Chevin Sbarnazzone, si propone un grazioso minuetto che conserva tutti i crismi più tradizionali della forma classica.

A fleeting moment of clarity, a river of memories shimmering with the illusion of beauty. "Glass River" is the quiet realisation that dwelling too long in nostalgia only reveals how fragile those memories truly are. Here, the aching grief of the past is momentarily forgotten, giving way to an almost lighthearted reverie—a flow of beautiful thoughts, once cherished, now reimagined with a certain detachment. The song dances between two sections, almost as if the mind is lost in a dream, only half-aware of its own fragility.

But beneath the surface, something shifts. The Minore section, with its rich, dark tension, breaks the dreamlike state, pulling the listener back to the pain that lies hidden beneath these ‘pleasant’ memories. The shift is sharp, unexpected—like the shattering of glass. Anger lingers in the air, bitter and sharp, reflecting not only sorrow but a certain disillusionment. Here, the past is no longer viewed with rose-colored glasses but with a seething awareness that the beauty was always intertwined with something darker.

"Glass River" is the moment when the past is both held close and released. It is a place where nostalgia is not just a source of pain but also a vehicle for anger, a river of memories that shatters against the rocks of the present, breaking the illusion of beauty and revealing something far more jagged.

Rispondendo alla Chiamata manifestatasi tramite 
un Call Center, colpita da profonda emozione, Suor Attila decise di dedicare la Sua vita alla correzione dei bisognosi, fondando così il Pio Istituto delle Piccole Ancelle Ausiliatrici dell’Apocalisse.

Fermamente convinta che le anime perdute e le menti tormentate possano essere redente attraverso una sinergia di preghiera e legnate sulle gengive, la Salvifica Madre professa il ritorno a più efficaci e risolutivi riti di salvazione, generalmente promossi attraverso ecumeniche ronde di correzionatori.

Ma la vera Opera di Suor Attila si manifesta nella Sua musica. 
Un tripudio di banalità e insensatezze -modellate in un’epifania di straordinaria bruttezza- produce nell'ascoltatore una sensazione di confusione e fastidio che dà vita a un’esperienza di ascolto assolutamente unica. 

Non sorprende, quindi, che la Pia Religiosa abbia ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti per il Suo contributo unico a un'Arte che sfida ogni forma di decoro.

Aspiring film composer.

Composer-pianist Robert Cunningham's many works for piano, various chamber ensembles, voice, chorus, and piano and orchestra reflect a highly original, complex, and chromatic Romantic style. He studied piano with Loren Withers at Duke University (graduating in 1970) and with Katherine Bacon at Juilliard.  Later turning to composing, he obtained a master's degree in composition from Georgia State University in 1995.  Based on a dissertation analyzing Rachmaninoff's harmonic practices, he received his Ph.D. in music theory from Florida State University in 1999. He is the author of Sergei Rachmaninoff: A Bio-Bibliography, published by Greenwood Press.
