No additional processing was added after the performance.

PATCH NOTES:

Mutable Instruments Tides is the only sound source for this generative patch, in "chord" output mode. 4 notes per harmony, shifting their harmonic configurations according to a repeating 16-step CV pattern from Mimetic Digitalis sent to Tides "Shift/Level" control. The sequence was created at random by the MD module and repeatedly shifted in predictable-yet-unpredictable ways by external modulations.

Stages provides all the modulation: 6 independent LFOs sent to a variety of destinations. Two of the LFOs are modulated by other LFOs.

Besides Stages self-modulating, the other primary targets of modulation in this patch are 

1) several parameters that affect the timbre of Tides directly... 

2) the relative dynamic levels of the four tones that Tides is producing, by using a Veils as a four-channel VC mixer... and 

3) a bit of "random" but cyclical behavior to the sequence from Mimetic Digitalis that controls the chord qualities of Tides (this sometimes locks into a cycle of chords and othertimes rapidly jumps between them, producing an interesting bassline).

There is also a very tiny amount of slow modulation on the overall pitch of the Tides ensemble that creates a warbley, tape-y, chorus. It's subtle but you'd miss it immediately if I took it away.

Sometimes I use a second Veils as an actual VCA to moderate or change the levels of modulation over time.

A standard but fairly extreme Hall reverb is coming from the Eventide Space pedal, with a bit of modulation.

I built this patch to learn more about using the Veils and Stages modules, and Tides as a VCO. Happy to say, I was successful in deepening my understanding somewhat. There is much more to learn.

I'm a lab-rat. gear-head. Composer of sonic explorations. Seeker of tone and frequency. Patcher of modules. Twiddler of knobs. Bender of strings. Programmer of sequences. Lover of all things that oscillate, resonate and reverberate.

My main instrument is a Eurorack Modular synthesizer comprised of approximately 70 modules. My favourites include modules from Frap Tools Instruō, Intellijel, Rossum electro-music and Industrial Music Electronics. I use a 16-channel Line converter from nw2s to get modular signals into my DAW.
My main polysynth is a Sequential Prophet Rev2.
Production tools are Ableton Live and Push 2, with Universal Audio and Focusrite AD converters;  Eventide, and Lexicon hardware; and plugins from Valhalla DSP, Plugin Alliance, Eventide, Softube, Arturia and Roland.
I also compose with electric guitars and basses, Toontrack Superior Drummer, and various Brazilian samba percussion.
