I hope you're having a great day so far, and I hope that this FLP makes your day even greater. Once again, I've picked up on an oldskool track - this time "Perfekte Welle" by Juli. The track was the hot shit when I was a kid. It was one of the tracks that was played 60 times on Viva and MTV, and then at least 30 further times on radio stations. People loved it, I loved. It was 2004, times were good. But then it went quiet around Juli. In February, 2023 I was reminded of this Juli and this beautiful song through "Bad Rabbitz" - a german Frenchcore and Hardcore producer - who created a very original bootleg of "Perfekte Welle". I've probably listened to it a few thousand times and enjoyed so much, that I have decided to give it a try myself. After many 2Phaze releases, I felt a little bit housy and dubstep'ish at the time, the outcome is once again a hybrid bastard mixture of House, Electro and Dubstep. If I was Porter Robinson I'd probably call it Complextro...

The fourth instalment of the Garlic & Onions show on Echobox Radio. This month I do a show around the theme "Moodstep". For me, moodstep is a sort of subgenre around extra moody dubstep with grimy basslines and a faster bpm than traditional dubstep. I noticed recently lots of labels putting out these kinds of songs and got inspired to create a mix.
