this mix is the second of eight that have been used in a clinical setting by SABI Mind for over three years now. it has also been used by close friends and myself, many times over too ..over and over, as it was carefully designed for repeat use. to entrain to. to reach for as a reliable tool. for the purposes of meditation, clearing, unwinding, calming, relaxing, deepening, inner explorations & journeys, grounding, centering, focusing, resting, drifting, quieting, sleeping, transforming, transporting, healing and other related purposes.

it stands on it's own as a contemporary ambient mix and also fully functions in the sound wellness realms. it keeps the promise of holding space for the listener the entire time, without any blips or trips or artful overly expressive side-quests, just slowly and reliably modulating and evolving and unfolding.

it's called 'moving SHADOW' it digs a bit deeper into engaging with, and ultimately separating and clearing, shadow elements. it's not super heavy or intense in this way, it's somewhat subtle and the mix also still retains it's primary universal purpose of use - it's just one notch or two towards this specific goal (compared to the first mix).  many thanks and acknowledgements to the absolutely perfectly executed music made by all the artist's in the mix - a decent handful of them being local as well.

Amör leans forward to present us with volume 18 of the mix series. Taking a similar approach to Fundamentals and volume 15, Amör sprinkles in a few of his homegrown bits amongst a soothing selection of late 90's old friends. Crashing the party with equally impressive vibes are some modern derivatives from arcologies, Rhythm Tek, and Sardo. This mix is a perfect nod to the universality of a timeless sound, unburdened by geopolitical limits.

A logical next show after my Neurofunk and Technoid specials would be to do a Techstep special! However, I've already done several more pure Techstep shows in the last few years, so I decided to focus on only vinyls that were released in 1997 - including the seminal Torque LP, the most defining Techstep album if you ask me. I don't think everything in this mix could necessarily be classified Techstep, but it's close enough. I really enjoyed this exploration and mix of contemporary tunes! I hope you also will.

G'day folks. Had a couple more jungle compilations in my sights over the Xmas break, to be unveiled soon as I come out of hibernation, but first of all... 
Internal's Counterforce LP from early 1994 is a lovely obscure compilation that I've rinsed many times, even made my own mix (refer to exhibit A: https://on.soundcloud.com/fgLsecS1vuf6SoNq7), and decided an alternate selection on a similar basis, i.e. early atmospheric jungle, would be jolly nice. Flytronix was on a (rare) tear then, producing all-time classics The Rhode Tune and NRG & Consciousness, as well as deep cuts brimming with jazzy, unpredictable musicality. Flytronix drops never revealed everything at once; he would gradually layer on drums and instruments with a storytelling sense largely lost in jungle/dnb today.

It's just Danny here. His collaborations with Alex Banks, JMJ, and Peshay are worth independent study, as are his tracks from 1998 onwards, especially the Archive LP. RQ's artwork brilliantly mashes up Flytronix' artwork for the 2nd and 4th Encounta 12"s. Track list is below. Enjoy!

Home of my own mixes - predominantly jungle/hardcore with the odd bit of D&B, plus eclectic sample-digging, breaks and hip-hop, techno & electronica. 

Pre-2001, all mixes vinyl; Post-2016, all mixes digital (DJay 2); Post-2018, Ableton Live. Why? Why not?
I've got an old skool DJ's mentality, early influences ranging from Sublove, Ratty, Randall & Hype to Coldcut, DJ Juice, MK & Primo.  In the early 00s I turned my back on D&B, retired my turntables in favour of family/work commitments, and got into funk, soul, reggae and so on... a lot of this driven by curiosity around the sample roots of hardcore and jungle.  Forward another decade and an early mid-life crisis saw me messing around with virtual decks on my phone, and later acquiring a vinyl ripper, with one vision in mind: making mixes.
Although I'm partial to the odd DJay or vinyl mix when I get the chance, the progression into Ableton Live was a simple means to an end.  My ideas stretch further than the limitations of my physical collection and real-time mixing, and by sequencing I can pick, choose, chip away and structure mixes at my leisure. Which I do... a lot :)

Wait, there's more ... an absolute stack of classic golden era/old skool hip-hop/turntablism, jungle and d&b, hardcore, techno and house mixes retrieved from my dusty tape & CD archives.  This includes (by my reckoning) the most exhaustive collections of classic Full Cycle and Sublove Galaxy Radio shows, live Ruffneck Ting jungle tapes, loads of studio & compilation mixes, all manner of rave tapes, and so on.
