In line with HOTBOX’ first foray into the vinylverse, none other than Mtty (@mttyyum) will be at the helm for our next Hot Series. Usually found Down Under, our guest has just recently returned from his pilgrimage to Europe, broadening his musical repertoire in the process. Mtty, a partisan of the playful and eccentric facets of house music, ingeniously translates his affinity into his own productions, particularly showcasing a cheeky approach to spaced-out UFO sounds which is exactly what caught the attention of the HOTBOX.

As we celebrate February 14th, a day synonymous with intimacy and affection, our sixteenth Hot Series mix is a crimson cascade of love and passion. Mtty guides us through a sultry journey spanning an hour and a half, seducing us with a bunch of banging 4x4’s and whipping out warm melodies and bouncy drums left, right, and center, leaving listeners immersed in a sonic realm where love and music intertwine. Expect more of his stuff on the interwebs, including on our own Sonic Sauna VA coming out in March.

Klaus Benedek grew up in a small town near Vienna. His interest in electronic music began during the 90s techno hype. He spent hours watching video clips on MTV and viva and thus gaining knowledge about electronic music. In 2004, he began teaching himself to produce. Gathering his inspiration wherever he could, he began collecting 12" vinyl records the same year and 2 years later got his first dj-gigs. From 2008 till 2010 he was one of the resident DJs at the MNML Thursdays in the Camera Club. In 2012 he started with Alex Kolodziej the event-series Tellerbetrieb. Currently he finds most of his inspiration in Chicago House, Deep House, Disco and Breakbeat. After releases on labels like Petrol Dollar, Subversaal, rekooda, Soul Shift Music, Clean and Dirty Recordings and tanzbar, Klaus launched his own label forTunea in 2014.
