It’s ROARgust everybody!! Our lil month dedicated The Lion King and its sequel. In our first August episode we have THEE Lion King. Loosely based on Hamlet, this animated movie set in Africa explores themes of family, grief and responsibility. Young Simba who ‘just can’t wait to be king’ faces a tough decision when he gets that exact opportunity. Join us on this coming-of-age story adapted from Shakespeare.

Episode 73: The Lion King (1994)

We watched The Lion King 2 for our second ROARgust episode. This time the story is a vague adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Kiara, Simba's daughter and Kovu, Scar's heir, fall in love even though they are from feuding prides.  This is a slightly late episode but enjoy the journey with us anyways!

For our double-feature upload, we're first heading into the land of ice hockey with Score: a Hockey Musical, starring some familiar faces. When 17 year old Farley gets recruited for a hockey team. His mostly sheltered life goes into turmoil as he deals with the friction between who he is and who he's expected to be.

in our second of the double-feature we go all the way to Russia, where a young girl is hoping to be a gold medalist in figure-skating. However, things don't exactly go to plan.

It’s 80s October (a.k.a. Octies) and we are dipping straight into a campy cult classic with 1980’s Xanadu starring Olivia Newton-John. A story about an artist and a muse. Grab your roller-skates and join us on this ride.

This is a story about Evan, a boy who moves to a new town just as he's planning his bar mitzvah. Now, he has to make new friends, so he can have the party he's always wanted.
