New York-based and cabaret-inspired indie rock band Dust Bowl Faeries released The Plague Garden in Nov. 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic. The influences for The Plague Garden run from a deep and extensive well of multiple genres, from traditional Eastern European folk music to dark cabaret, gypsy punk and the riot grrrl punk movement of the 90s.  

The Dust Bowl Faeries (2020/21) are: Ryder Cooley (Faerie Queen; accordion, singing saw, ukulele, lead vocals), Jon B. Woodin (Rocket Faerie; guitar, castanets, vocals), Rubi LaRue (Feisty Faerie; lapsteel, vocals), Liz LoGiudice (River Faerie; bass, vocals) and Andrew Stein (Time Faerie; percussion). The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Michael Schoonmaker, who also did the album artwork

Dust Bowl Faeries is a Dark Carnival band based in N.Y. founded by   artist/musician Ryder Cooley and Hazel, a taxidermy ram who is symbolically resurrected through performance.

Florina Speth, born 1983 in the mountains near Salzburg, started playing the cello and piano at the age of 6 and began studying music at the “University Mozarteum Salzburg” when she was just 11. She won several prices playing solo and string quartett ensembles, was part of orchestras like Bayerisches Landesjugend Orchester and Salzburger Junge Philarmonie all over Europe. Always keenly interested in contemporary music, she was part of performing ensembles in lots of world premieres.

In her PhD she investigated the role of sound in robotic rehabilitation. She has been working as Postdoctoral researcher on Music, Machines and the Human hand. She has been working as a futurist, writing books on the 22nd century and future of health. These days she holds a professorship in Digital Health in which she tackles the humane tech-potentials for the silver society.

She loves bridging experimental arts with science to get inspiring output. In current live performances she works with cello and cello robots made by https://versioduo.com/.
