Italian melodic maestro My Flower returns to Nightcolours with an EP that will, quite frankly, blow your socks off!

Following on from his successful Spheal EP that received DJ support from the likes of Frankey & Sandrino, Anthony Pappa, Hunter/Game & Jonas Saalbach, My Flower picks up where he left off with two tracks of the highest quality that showcase his mesmerizing and energetic take on melodic techno.

Opening the EP is Amanecer, a brooding, snarling menace of a track that never lets up it’s grip on the dance floor. Metallic hi hats snap at your ankles while the delicately floating arp soothes your mind all in preparation for what awaits in the break.

PREMIERE: My Flower - Amanecer [Nightcolours Recordings]

'Above the Balearic Sea, Madrid and Genoa are joined by a central musical thread where Nosssia and My Flower combine under “Claro de Luna”. Familiar melodic themes rise across the cityscapes in the velvety night sky, supported by a cast of rolling rhythmic patterns and ticking percussion. A new musical vision emerges through the clouds as South America and Sri Lanka converge over the African continent.

Filtered synth lines materialise over clave percussive pattern as melodic themes echo in newly orchestrated shapes from Juan Sapia & Hasith. Amidst a pulsating wave of sound and white noise effects, glittering counterpoint and heavy beat create a new dark majesty before a “Tranquillity Mix” paints an ambient canvas that projects into the clear night sky. A swathe of ethereal and liquid soundscape builds into ordered chaos and simple melody.

The final destination finds a bright clear moon rising over Montreal. Tyler Mesa’s stuttering bassline intent collides with melting synth lines and a new sonic array. Undulating rhythmic foundations create a fresh textured surface that hits glorious peaks and valleys along memorable aural landscape.'

Second State will drop its next various artists' compilation this summer featuring 12 artists from today’s techno scene, showcasing their individual sound and production skills. The 11 tracks each incorporate elements from techno sub-genres to create a varied and intoxicating release from the Berlin imprint, welcoming Second State regulars and new names alike to continue paving the way for the label’s sound. 

Returning to Second State is Yotam Avni, who opens the record with the dynamically layered ‘Panic’. The breakdowns of this track switch up during its flow, varying in intensity as it progresses. Valentinø and My Flower hasten the pace with ‘Lightfire’, packed with minimal drumwork, booming bass and phased bursts of ethereal keys. Up next is Simon Stiglmeier with a piece of kaleidoscopic techno in ‘Dancy’, complete with a grooving vocal synth. SOTO follows with enveloping bass and rippling synth waves in ‘Core’, whilst Techno live band Komfortrauschen power on with a warbling bassline and whirring atmospherics with ‘Each Second’. 

‘Subconscious Reset’ from Juliet Fox contributes a barrage of alarms and sharp, chilling synths that echo menacingly throughout, followed by Isabel Soto with pulsating cut ‘Momentum’ - a stripped back, down-tempo roller. Gutto Serta takes listeners down a rabbit hole with trippy cut ‘Maximize’, with airy pads whispering underneath bleeps and a sultry vocal sample. Building the record to crescendo is Dextro’s booming and raucous track ‘Omonoia’, with razor sharp hoover sounds and an earth-shattering kick & hi-hat combo. Maintaining the powerful energy is Daryl Stay with his propulsive weapon ‘Phalanx’, followed by the final track from Avision, ‘Tunnel’, featuring playful synth and acid lines that bounce over the phased percussion, and a shift in pitch to build the track’s intensity.

The title track is a simmering, shimmering journey with a mysterious almost tribal vocal that teases as it weaves in and out.

The second remix comes from an artist that needs no introduction in Progressive circles, Subandrio. He turns out a brooding and mysterious rework, full of light & shade and one definitely for the heads.

Last up is a name that needs no introduction in Progressive circles, Subandrio. He turns out a brooding and mysterious rework, full of light & shade and one definitely for the heads.
