There was a true sense of hope and happiness. Reliving all these memories, inspired me to write this song. As we grow older we forget how special Christmas is and we now have moments of nostalgia that we must hold onto.

Kyaunnee Richardson made her professional debut as Papagena in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Festival of the Arts Boca in 2016. Highlights from the last few seasons include the role of Esther in the concert premiere of Ginsberg’s Esther, Sweet Esther at the National Press Club in Washington DC, the roles of Najade in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, and Adele in J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus with Opera Fusion’s Emerging Artist Project series and Pamina in Mozart's The Magic Flute with Orchestra Miami. While completing her masters at Florida State University, Kyaunnee performed the roles of Rose Maurrant in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene and Despina in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte.

Her performances as a soloist with orchestra include Handel’s Messiah with the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami and the Alhambra Orchestra and Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Delray Orchestra. She has also been a featured soloist with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, Hallandale Symphonic Pops Orchestra, Sugar Pops Orchestra, Opera Fusion Orchestra, Coral Gables Chamber Orchestra and the Sunrise Symphonic Pops Orchestra.

This season Kyaunnee placed third in the New York Lyric Opera Theatre Competition. She also placed third in Opera Ebony’s Benjamin Matthews Vocal Competition and won the Audience Favorite Award in the Harlem Opera Theater Competition. Other awards include the Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and Stuart Smith Audience Favorite Award from Opera Ebony.

Kyaunnee counts among her highest honors singing for President Barak Obama and other dignitaries at the funeral of South Carolina Senator and Rev. Clementa Pinckney.

To Coventry’s learned halls I went, where masters wise did lend their art—Bob Ramskill, Marcus Cornell, Chris Hobbs—all scholars most esteemed, whose knowledge I did drink as doth a parched man drink the sweetest wine. Some do whisper that my hand doth echo Ornstein’s tempest, Nancarrow’s cunning, Antheil’s mad delight. If such be true, I welcome it as fortune’s boon.

Shouldst thou wish to hear the labours of my heart, thou needs but seek me out upon yon SoundCloud, where resteth my works—piano of wild fancy, great orchestral airs, a tome of strings where harmony and discord dance as lovers ‘neath the moon. And when I set mine own quill aside, I delve ‘midst the dust of time, where ancient scores lie in slumber, breathing once more the breath of life into those melodies the world hath nigh forgotten.

So tarry not, dear friend—lend thine ear, let music seize thee as the tide doth seize the shore, let it shake thee, stir thee, set thy heart adrift upon its waves. And if joy it bring thee, then know thou hast gladdened one poor composer’s soul.

40 jaar maakt hij geen radio meer.
Als jonge cabaretier is hij samen met Hans de Booij het muziektheaterduo CIRCUS STUPIDO.
Als horecaman start hij in Antwerpen tussen 1980 en 1991 de stadskroeg, het swingcafé en grand café salto mortale.
Als festivalpromotor van het Nederlandstalige lied organiseert hij tussen 1988 en 2007 het festival pop Vlaanderen op 10 en 11 juli op de groenplaats in Antwerpen.
Vanaf 2007 maakt hij muziek en teksttheaterproducties voor het productiehuis BLAUW VZW, muziektheater.be
In het coronajaar 21 start hij radio prostaat op:
de Vlaamse wereldradio voor de rijpere luisteraar.
