This track started off with a question that lead to a premise that lead to...Interbay.  (Everything leads to Interbay, eventually.)  

The question is...what would Prince or Rick James or Parliament/Funkadelic sound like if instead of being funk artists who allowed themselves to be influenced by new wave, they were funk artists influenced by modern electronic dance music?  

The premise is...they'd use the new modern sounds to make their music sound..."more."  

Well, this is track is definitely "more."  

What I've come up with here is that specific variety of rock funk pushed to the limits.  Neuro bass joins slap bass guitar.  Keyboards are squidgey and distorted and everywhere.  Add some very P-funk vocals and a couple of snippets of dialogue from a classic blacksploitation film (bonus Interbay points for anyone who knows which one!) and you end up with "Bout To Turn It Out".  

Early on, it may feel oppressive or claustrophobic.  The neuro bass fills up a lot of space that you'd expect in a funk song.  Not only that, but the vocals start off singular and a bit weak.  As the track continues, space is added and the singular voice turns into a group chorus.  

I think it works.  I'll be interested in what you think.  

Now, regular Interbay listeners will be familiar with my calls for everyone to listen, like, repost, etc.  For more than a year, that's worked out pretty well...but occasionally, the algorithms would just skip a song every so often...and deserving songs would unfairly be ignored and unlistened to...  

...well, this has now happened three times this week...including the two days prior to this one.  

Perhaps the algorithm changed?  Perhaps the strength of SoundCloud's recommendation program has started to evaporate?  I don't know--but I've gotten used to the "every song gets at least 140 listens and some get far more" expectation...so, seeing track listens in two digits...or, gulp, single digits...is disheartening.  

So, if you have the time...I would definitely appreciate if you gave this track a listen...and then, go back and check out some other Interbay tracks.  They're all very different and all very Interbay at the same time.  You might find a new favorite!  (...one that would be worthy of shares, reposts, playlist adds and, hopefully, likes!  Feel generous!  It all helps.  Really.  And thank you!)

DJ kamineo est né en 1978 à Clermont Ferrand, en France.

Passionné de musique électronique et de hip-hop.C'est en 1999 qu'il a pu acheter ses premières platines. Quelques mois plus tard, il a commencé à mixer et à se produire dans des soirées gratuites et bar . En 2000, il découvre la drum and bass qui devient sa musique favorite. En 2002, il rejoint le karlkargckrew et commence à se produire au Bambar. Mais depuis 2008, il consacre tout son temps à la composition.

En 2014, il produit un remix de loadstar dr Krak sous le label RAM.

Fin 2016, il démarre une émission de style DNB grâce à la radio campus 93.3 Clermont Ferrand sur le mouvement Jungle, Liquid funk et neuro.

2017 Déimos sort le remix kat sous le label hidden company  et continue de faire son live DNB Style avec platine sous Tracktor sur l'antenne de radio campus 93.3 Clermont Ferrand.

DJ Istar aka Daniel Bigler has been following the development of electronic dance music since his early teenage years. He was mainly interested in UKGarage,Detroit Techno and ChicagoHouse,but especially in Jungle.In the 90s he began his career under the moniker of DJ Istar with Drum'n'Bass sets at the renowned Wasserwerk club in Bern and was quickly booked for performances all over Switzerland.In addition to his residency in Wasserwerk club,he was regularly spinning at Rohstofflager and PalaisX-tra Zürich and opened for international acts such as DJ Hype or the RaggaTwins (UK). 
He also performed several times at Streetparade and hosted a radio show at DJ Radio Zürich. 

In 2016 DJ Istar founded his first label Starbrainrecords which was planned as an open label for good electronic music today it is a drum&bass label where he released under DJ Inspired. In 2017 DJ Istar founded his main label Sunrising Records which is dedicated to the whole spectrum of House where he releases many Disco House Afro House tracks as DJ Istar. Sunrising Records Underground is the sub label of Sunrising Records dedicated to Hip House and Jackin House. In 2024 DJ Istar also founded his third label E-Troit Records which is a techno label dedicated to Detroit and Fusion Techno and DJ Istar releases under the name Daniel Bigler
