We talk about John's new solo record, the show we met at, Candiria's songwriting process, the fascinating production of the album While They Were Sleeping, Warped Tour 2017 memories, the behind the scenes hard work that brought Warped Tour to life, what it was like to tour with Quicksand, playing with Julie Christmas, and the unfortunate repercussions of the accident that severely injured the band in 2002 and more. Candiria is one of the most unique bands from the New York underground and they left a lasting mark on the scene! Me, my friends, my brother and even previous interview guests on my show have been inspired by their creativity and their trailblazing sound! Huge honor and privilege to have John on the show!

Joey is the frontman of LI's biggest rising stars Koyo, fronts Blood Runs Cold, plays bass in Typecaste and Soul Provider and used to be in They All Float. We talked extensively about Koyo, their rapid rise in popularity, their first European tour, their upcoming tour with Bayside and I Am The Avalanche, the meaning behind the songs on Drives Out East, their upcoming show with Silent Majority as well as the importance of Silent Majority and some insight into their upcoming record among other things. We also talked about his new project Blood Runs Cold and why the singer of an emo band is fronting a violent beatdown band. We also talk a bit about Typecaste, their past Summer of Fear tours and a potential future for Typecase. We also talked some music industry shop and talked about how the pandemic affected us and the music industry. We talked a bit about touring with Vein. Safe to say, we talked a lot about touring.

Joey is a passionate and enduring fixture in the Long Island hardcore scene! He booked some of the first local shows I went to and he's always been super cool and welcoming to new people in the scene! He's a person with a lot to say about hardcore and alternative music and he truly gets it! This interview was a long time coming and I was beyond stoked to have him on!

We also discuss amusing aspects of the subculture and some of the absurdities one encounters while maturing.
