This month, we are in the studio of @Radio-Relativa with two friends for a back2back2back. 

For the fourth time, we have the pleasure of sharing the booth with our friend, an Asturian selector who has played all over Spain, we are with Mora. And, for the first time, we are accompanied by a good friend, a dj and producer from Mexico: Dani Wais. 

The session has many styles, acid, electro, italo, house, new beat and techno, a two hour b2b2b that was recorded live and direct in the heart of Radio Relativa.

Phantom Astronauts is a cold, pulsing electronic descent into the shadowed corridors of Cold War paranoia and space-age mythology. Inspired by Kraftwerk’s clinical futurism, the militant thrust of Nitzer Ebb, and the grit and urgency of Front 242 and Portion Control, the track fuses EBM’s disciplined structure with the haunting atmosphere of a forgotten space transmission.

A relentless EBM bass synth anchors the track, cycling like a launch countdown. Each bar punctuates with a vocal sample — a central voice solemnly counts “Five,” while opposing channels whisper, “One small step” and “The Eagle has landed,” creating a surround-sound echo chamber of propaganda, memory, and lost contact.

Thematically, the song draws on the “phantom cosmonaut” conspiracy theory — the idea that Soviet astronauts were launched into space and lost, erased from history. The track becomes a musical black box, relaying broken messages from presumed-dead cosmonauts drifting endlessly in orbit, betrayed by the machinery they trusted.

I’ve complained in the past about modern music needing a jolt of innovation without coming off as pretentious. Phidippus seems to epitomize the desire to make great music while refusing to keep to one specific formula, making his trajectory as an artist fascinating to watch. I find Phidippus to be an immensely underappreciated musician who just needs one big hit to make his name reverberate throughout the densely packed world of electronica, and I hope that that day comes sooner rather than later.

1974: Eric Salazar, aka Phidippus, is conceived then born shortly after.
1984: Plays first instrument, the autoharp.
1985: Joins a break dancing troop.
1986: Dad buys Amiga 1000. 'Sampled' music discovered.
1990: Gets hands on an Ensoniq EPS-16+ sampling workstation and proceeds to make bad music.
1998: CD EP, "Voluptuous", released. After receiving a demo copy, the staff of Peter Gabriel's record label enjoy the CD as they write memos.
1999: Produces remixes for New Vision Recordings and other labels in the UK.
2000: Mercedes, Smirnoff and other companies license Eric's music to promote their products.
2001: Launches New Vision America, a record label. After three singles are released, the label dies a quiet death.
2005: Scores the best selling game, "Belle's Beauty Boutique". What? Its cute.
2008: Releases full length CD, "ES: When I was Emptyhead 1997-2007". The CD goes on to receive airplay in major markets and commendations from the press, including such publications as Knowledge and XLR8R.
2011: Remixes artists such as The B-52s, Summer Channel and Sasha.
2013: Starts producing under the name Phidippus and begins work on the '170' project.
2019: 'When I was Emptyhead 1997-2007' is re-released under the Phidippus moniker and is made available in all major online music outlets.
2019: The Phidippus album '170.1' is released in all major online music outlets.
2020: The album '170.2' is released online
2021: '170.3' and '170.4' albums are released online
2022: http://www.soundcloud.com/phidippus reaches the 400,000 mark in total plays and 11,000 followers
2022: An EP concocted by Phidippus and producer Surreal8Zero is signed to Full Send DnB
2022: The hip hop single 'Starfish featuring Cap'n Fresh' achieves airplay in 30 states.
2024: The albums "Jinx" and "Lazarus" are released and critically praised.

Klaus Benedek grew up in a small town near Vienna. His interest in electronic music began during the 90s techno hype. He spent hours watching video clips on MTV and viva and thus gaining knowledge about electronic music. In 2004, he began teaching himself to produce. Gathering his inspiration wherever he could, he began collecting 12" vinyl records the same year and 2 years later got his first dj-gigs. From 2008 till 2010 he was one of the resident DJs at the MNML Thursdays in the Camera Club. In 2012 he started with Alex Kolodziej the event-series Tellerbetrieb. Currently he finds most of his inspiration in Chicago House, Deep House, Disco and Breakbeat. After releases on labels like Petrol Dollar, Subversaal, rekooda, Soul Shift Music, Clean and Dirty Recordings and tanzbar, Klaus launched his own label forTunea in 2014.

Bedhelm is a visual artist, producer and performer from Zwolle, Netherlands.

: cyberpati : é Patricia Gnipper quando decide expressar o que sente com beats em vez de palavras ou imagens. Jornalista, fotógrafa e DJ, tem a mente inquieta e sempre tem algo a dizer.

Sua sonoridade transita entre agressividade e sensibilidade, dureza e delicadeza, 8 e 80. 

EBM, industrial, dark electro, techno, futurepop, synthpop, trance, electro… Suas influências são diversas e estão sempre em evolução. Não se limita a gêneros. Como artista, sua marca é a mistura de referências criando conexões que só uma mente peculiar como a dela seria capaz de fazer.

Começou a discotecar em 2004, foi DJ residente na noite underground curitibana em 2005, mergulhou nos softwares de mixagem “ao morto” (RIP MixMeister) e hoje é fiel ao DJ.Studio.

Após 20 anos longe das pick-ups em apresentações ao vivo, tirou a poeira da controladora em 2025 e agora não vê a hora de brincar mais noite adentro. 

Integra o coletivo Klangfabrik, dedicado à música eletrônica underground em Curitiba (PR).
