This did not exist until about a month ago. I [skybreak] wrote this in one singular day back in November, when I was in a very reflective state. Each word of Bryan’s acapella resonated with me in a completely different light than the one it did when we first started this song in April 2022. The emotions I felt revisiting the vocal and writing this were overwhelming and it just came together really quickly.

I thought back to my mental state when I started the tune with Austin back in April 2022 - setting out to write a song about my confusion with “where to go” in this music industry and strange universe, in genuine wonder how my peers and friends got through a reality as bleak as our own.

I realized that everybody’s answer is different and beautifully their own. One year later, as I worked on the stripped version, I thought to myself “wait a second, i think i  DID find something to believe in” 

And I think it’s the friends who are truly happy to be alive that I’ve cultivated over the past year and a half, who push me to do new things outside of my comfort zone and help reverse my state of chronic onlineness into something far more meaningful

It also truly hit that I was about to put out a song with someone who I would consider my #1 inspiration in electronic music, tied only with Virtual Riot and Porter Robinson. I remember losing my mind to songs like Crossroad and Snowblind when I was 11. Another core memory was driving through the Irish countryside in 2019 listening to Divinorum on repeat through a fresh pair of ATH-M50s. Every single detail seemed to coincide with the passing mountains in a way music hadn’t really spoken to me before.
