In the jazz hut ce soir with me Psych Milligan, post the very excellent @nickstagram14 / Zillas on Acid show, I shall be playing the likes of Sandie Shaw, John Martyn, Chain & The Gang and Michel Polnareff. Tune in to see what all the commotion is aboot… 7-9pm @netilradio - it’s been fabulous hearing how some fans have been telling me how THEY like to enjoy to the show, with some even forming fan clubs where they like to meet up and listen together en-masse for a more spiritual experience, which has in some cases ended up in marriage.. and unfortunately 1 divorce. Founder and lead singer of the band Misty Blues, Gina Coleman (www.mistybluesband.com), visits with host Ron Olesko to discuss the groups new album "I'm Too Old For Games: A Live Tribute to Odetta". 

The album is the second installment in the live Odetta tribute recordings the band has captured. In a perfect bit of timing it doubles as a celebration of Odetta's recent induction both the Blues Hall of Fame and The Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame!

Founded in 2004, the simple principal was delivering the funk with engaging music that always rocks the dance floors, regardless of genre. Started by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! This ethos continued throughout the initial vinyl based volume series and as the label evolved alongside the changing digital landscape, helping to develop a global funk and mid tempo scene along the way.

It's crazy to think how much the label has grown and now works with artists and partners from around the globe. Alongside individual artist releases Bombstrike is also home to the much loved Funk n' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series, with guest curators helping the listener discover new music or unearth forgotten classics.

 

We continue to push things forward with everything we do, whether it is releases, festival stages or club nights....We always do it with our same founding ideals and will continue to do what we do best. Watch this space.

Ron created WFDU-FM's TRADITIONS in 1980, a show that he continues to host and produce every Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6pm ETand as of 2023 the show moved to Sunday evenings from 10pm to 1am ET (www.wfdu.fm)and simulcast at www.FolkMusicNotebook.com where there is also an encore broadcast Mondays at 3pm ET.
