You see, after twenty years of cleaning up after film students, they’ve learned something – most movies are garbage.

So whenever their lunch breaks align, they catch up on the latest Hollywood has to offer.

In between taking out the trash, they’re talking trash.

I’m Doctor Generous.
I love music. It makes my heart happy.
I'm getting old, just like all of you. And isn't it glorious? 
I try to be aware of the expectations I put on other people (and myself).
I need a hug.
Bowel movements are very important to me (seriously, a good poop can change the entire mood of my day). 
I’m terrified of everything.
I love the Earth, and I genuinely cannot believe we get to be here. 
I love my friends.

I like people because I like stories, and all stories involve people. Also, some people are just really great at telling phenomenal stories! Listen, and you'll hear them. 
I also like alone time - it’s when I write my music.
I love guitar.
I have a sweet tooth over a salty tooth.
Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite food.
My personality is basically a golden retriever - fun, slightly stupid, and always down to cuddle.
I love laughing. Like uncontrollable laughing that sounds like a demon is being exorcised from my body. 
And lastly, I hope you like my music. If you don’t, that’s okay, too. I’m just grateful you took a listen. 

Today, tell someone you love them. If you can, give them a hug. And do something that brings you joy.

Doctor Generous

Covid lockdown has given me the time to put together a project I always wanted to do but never had the time with a busy schedule.  I have picked out close to 100 songs that inspired me to get into music.  Most are from the 1970s and early 1980s when I turned onto music and my influences.  A couple of the songs are from the later 1980s and couple of pearls from later that I couldn’t resist including.  I wanted to redo them with different flavors, almost in a way that I would have arranged and produced them.  The outcomes were dense and organic by design but it was clear where my creativity was taking each song.  Heavy influences from other artists   Too many credits to those who assisted or played on this project.  I will add them later but it was truly a transatlantic effort with contributors from Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, NYC, LA, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver and San Francisco as well as me holed up at my two studios in California, playing, tracking, arranging, engineering and producing.  

 I hope you enjoy these reimaginations.  It was fun making them.  Something I leave as a gift to those who love music. At some point I will write a companion piece outlining the thinking, instruments and gear used along with production notes for the project. 😃
