Randy McGoffin, a retired special education professional is here at the hidden workforce to tell us the success stories of the special education students. The special education is targeting the preparation for the students to either continue their academic education or to enter the workforce. So there will be two programs depending on the goal to attain.

The success story today will be the success story of two students, the first one being Billy, a young lad with borderline intelligence and a very low language level. He was one of Randy McGoffins success cases that one meeting with his mother, his mother said that before he went through the special education program he did not have any language output but by the time he finished with him they couldn't shut him out. He continued his academic career and earned an associate degree and worked as a teacher assistant in a special needs program. The other one is John who has a lot of disabilities, he was a challenge, and took a lot of support from the team and his family. After he went through the special education program and his love and obsession for animals, he now works at an animal rescue program in another state.

The Hidden Workforce with Lise Toth of Rise Staffing- Randy MgGoffin, Special Education

Professionals who are outside the special education programs are willing to commit to work with students with special needs such as Tulsa Tech. According to Randy McGoffin, Tulsa Tech had a program that they wanted the student to go through but the student has limited cognitive skills so the instructor wrote a different curriculum for the student to complete the program and went successful. There are a lot of success stories about the how special education program helped people with disabilities and more people are committing to help more of these peoples.

As a professional special education teacher, Randy McGoffin said that these students taught him a lot more about what really matters in life, these kids are truly amazing just to be neglected. They must be given help and attention for they can do things better than we can imagine.
