😍 it is happening, sucre. will be closing ‘the basement’ during dutch decompression ‘artifision’ this year!! 🔥

to be able to play a set during an @burningmannl edition means a lot to me. 🥰
this year, i had the great pleasure to visit their @wherethesheepsleep for the first time. it is safe to say that i totally understand (and that’s an understatement) what the ‘post burn blues’ means; 🥺♥️ as it left me impressed how peacefully, sincerely polite and caretaking the burners were and acted to each other. those sweet people granted me to go from supporting my friend backstage (i was literally was dancing behind him on stage) playin’ burningmanbelgiums’ stage as sucre.! their tribe was so enthusiastic about my music and kind to me that i decided to stay at the festival while my friends were leaving which enabled me to play a little longer for them. it was like a dream coming true… the art, the vibe, the adventures, it was like a utopia. i had a swim in a submarine, met wonderful people, had great conversations, ate delicious food, had some nice drinks and ran into (close) friends and regulars from amsterdam nightlife. it kind of felt like coming home to me, mostly because these people and thus the community made me feel genuinely welcome from the first moment on. it got me real passionate and therefore to me it is an honour to close their house basement, as their new friend sucre.🔥

so dear burner people, get ready for a sweaty jackin’ house party from 04:00-05:30 a.m.! 🍬

also, it will be my debute @radionamsterdam too! it will be a night to remember and therefore @hommelsrutger and i decided to take things to another level, getting dressed up and ready to rumble by @nicksaan.kranck … 🎉

Part 3 features again some of the older releases from netherlands 'work records' (rhythm distribution). It's a lot of fun when you now mix records you bought when you started djing back in the days. When i mixed this one i often thought what i was thinking back then on several tracks - some of those are machines & they'll slam a dancefloor today as they did back then. Work Records have always been in the section progressive house for me.

'my mission is to make people dance and smile on house music. next to mix ‘n match my fav’ records (fyi: also them vinyls 🤙🏽) & dancing around the decks, me and my hubby produce our own sucre. tracks, sampling oldskool hiphop, jazz & disco gems. expect some real underground mischievous beats with a flourish touch, as it's my ultimate goal to take the audience on a happy musical journey, leaving nothing but energy and bliss on the dancefloor.

Since earliest childhood i was into music & the turntable & vinyl of my parents. My father initiated my addiction to vinyl finally by starting to let me select a record at the age of 6 years. Since then i bought music on vinyl. When i started visiting clubs with 15 & was experiencing the gay scene, i often brought some of my house records to an event & asked the, dj if he knows these or could play them - they did & after a few times they handed me the headphone & said "do it yourself, you're welcome" (ultimate thanks to 'Ralf Auge', Toby Geier & Ludger Werb at this point - you lit the spark in the clubs or let me 'practice' at your homes). Thinking about these first steps into djing makes me smile with a bit of melancholy... this is an experience that is hard to imagine these days.

With my first own earned money at age 16 or 17 i finally bought 2 turntables, a mixer, a headphone & started to mix at home with the records i bought until then. I began giving my mixtapes to other djs, that did own parties in town & i got often the possibility to play. In 2006 i took a break from djing for 6 or 7 years. Vinyl production dropped, many labels switched to digital format - something i never was interested in, not even in cds. In 2013 i recognized, that vinyl was ready for a big return to the market.

My vinyl library expands meanwhile a 7000+ records & is still rising. If you hear anything here that you like, let me know.
