I'm getting back into producing in a major way for 2023 and I wanted to make something that was really true to my style as a first comeback, something that connects with my love of that 2010 edm sound, and something that will help people realize what I'm about as an artist.

Girlfailure Tour #3: Live from Orlando✌️🫶🤝✊

EDM changed my life. My musical horizons have broadened, but edm was and will forever be my first love. Beyond the music, the rave scene was the first place where I ever felt like I had found a community of people. This was the first place that ever felt like home.

And if I could point to a moment in time where it all started, it'd be EDC Orlando 2012. This was the era of kandi, glovers, PLUR, and "Have u seen Molly" shirts. To me, the early 2010s will forever be the golden era of EDM. Nothing will ever top the feverish intensity of the festival scene in those times, when this music first escaped the underground warehouses where it was born and hit the mainstream. Names like Avicii, Showtek, Knife Party, and Krewella will always hold a special place in my heart. This was the era when I connected to this music and this scene in a way that I don't think can ever be repeated.

EDC Orlando 2012 was the festival that converted me from a casual fan into a lifelong raver. This mix is an homage to the golden era of early 2010s edm, celebrating some of the tracks and artists and drops that defined this lifechanging generation of music. It was an extra privilege to play this set in Orlando, the city where it all went down, at the home of some of my best friends in the entire world, who I had the privilege of meeting through raving💕

There will always be new hot tracks blowing up the dancefloor or the minds of festival-goers, for years and years into the future. But you never forget your firsts. 2010s House will always hold a special place in my heart.

Having been raised on 2000's pop, video game soundtracks, and classical music, David Kim's music embodies the eclectic style in which he grew up.
