Rather than the raw Melbourne minimal sound that was dominant at the time, this mix taps into a gritty electro house vibe — heavy grooves, distorted synths, and late-2000s energy with a unique edge.

One of the more unorthodox sets in the Hidden Forest archive — still part of the era, but standing in its own lane.

 Une dérive, une reflexion (ou rêverie), sur une vague de tout ce qui passe et nous dépasse. 

Inspiré au départ des les longues plages enregistrées par Klauss Schultze dans les années 70. Ces pièces occupaient toute la face d'un disque vinyle. Paysages sonores présentant des mélodies et des harmonies appuyées sur des routines de rythmes tonals exécutées par des séquenceurs analogiques.

 Note techno:

 Le titre ''Drift'' (dérive) tient de ce qu'il s'agit ici d'improvisation et de composition aléatoire utilisant les séquenceurs. Les sonorités dérivent et s'assemblent pour donner des motifs imprévus. 

Les images proviennent de sites de partage, parfois générés par IA, je fais l'assemblage avec un logiciel vidéo-montage.

A drift that passes by and tru us.

 Initialy inspired by Klauss Schultze's long takes recorded in the 70's. These would occupy a full side of a vinyl record. Sonic landscapes of melodies and harmonies over repetitive tonal rythms rendered by analogic sequencers. 

The title ''Drift'' goes for the fractal part of such method, as sounds drift and melt to produce random soundscapes.

 Images and clips are from public sharing websites, I do the assembly with a video editor software.

 Si vous décelez une influence d'Ennio Morricone (vous savez, l'Homme à l'harmonica) ben c'est pas un hasard. ;D  mais aussi Angelo Badalamenti pour le thème de 'Twin Peaks'.  Un peu caricatural peut-être mais je savoure tellement cette sonorité qui est unique à  la guitare électrique.

Note techno: 
compte tenu que le film de Leone, "Il était une fois dans l'ouest" date de 1968, on peut supposer, sans trop se tromper, que le son de la guitare a été produit en utilisant un "Maestro Fuzz Tone", le même appareil utilisé par Keith Richard pour la légendaire intro de "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" des Rolling Stones.

If you find some influence from Ennio Morricone (you know "Man With A Harmonica" ) well, dam right! :D But also the twang in Angelo Badalamenti's "Twin Peaks" theme.  Maybe it's a little silly, but I enjoy so much this sound that belongs to the electric guitar only.

Techno stuff:
 since the Leone movie "Once Upon A Time In The West" was issued in 1968, we can guess, with some assurance that the guitar sound was achieved by using a "Maestro Fuzz Tone", the same device used by Keith Richard for the legendary intro of the Rolling Stones' "I Can Get No Satisfaction"

De l’huile sur le feu, « Feeding the feud » en anglais (alimenter la querelle), j’ai fait ce tableau pour souligner l’anniversaire de l’élection du 47 ième président américain.

L’imagerie du feu, de l’incendie, c'est pour le titre du livre du journaliste américain Michael Wolf « Fire And Fury » (Le feu et la fureur) dans lequel il décrit les attitudes et comportements du président et de son entourage lors de la campagne électorale et les deux premières années du premier mandat à la maison blanche.

« Fire and fury » sont les paroles du président Trump,  menaçant  la Corée du Nord.

"Feeding The Feud", a sketch I made for the first anniversary of the election of the 47th american president.

The idea for the fire imagery comes from the title of Michael Wolf's book "The Fire And The Fury" ,  in wich is described the attitude of president Trump and his entourage during his 2016 run, and then the first two years of his first mandate at the white house. 

"Fire and fury" are president's Trump own words, as he was threatening North Korea.

 Une variation sur le thème du banc, cette fois dans les sables, toujours suivant la suggestion de l'IA de prendre l'expression à la lettre : un banc + du sable, tout comme pour "Un banc de brume" on m'avait proposé un banc, dans la brume.

 Note techno: 
La musique est entièrement composée, arrangée et enregistrée au moyen d'un ensemble varié de synthétiseurs numériques et analogiques,  sans assistance de l'IA,  par contre je lui demande de composer une image illustrant le titre et à la décharge de l'entité cybernétique, je dois dire qu'elle m'a démontré par ses réponses qu'elle est consciente du calembour, ou plutôt, d'une ambiguïté linguistique, selon ses propres termes. __________________________________________________________

Techno stuff: 
The music is entirely composed, arranged and produced with an mix of analog and digital synths,  without any AI help. On the other hand, I ask it to generate an image illustrating the title, in french, my first language, and that's how I got a bench in the fog for "A Patch Of Fog" ("Un banc de brume" in french) and now a bench in the sands for "A Sandbank" ("Un banc de sable") in french, as, in french, the word "Banc" can be used to describe a mass of something, but also a bench, the piece of furniture.

Got into DJ'ing in the early half of the 80's.Originally i started off off life as a breakdancer but was also  drawn to the scratching element of the music.So,as one did back then,i cut out a slipmatt from an old pillow case and got to work on an Amstrad stack system.I couldn't use the volume control so had to use the function button to cut the sound.This gave it an Eric B style scratch,messy but it did a job.It didn't take long for the turntable to eventually die on me so i used anything that played records until i finally got my 1210's in the early 90's.
I'd constantly be chucking out mix tapes but unfortunately living where i did the want for hip hop wasn't there so i moved onto the club circuit.
I did that for a good few years but got bored as the crowd then was only into what was in the charts and i liked breaking new stuff so eventually i knocked it on the head and only did the occasional house party.
Many years later,by chance,i bumped into an old friend who told me about some software he used to mix on.I got it and started putting some mixes together.This was all cool but i got bored quickly just blending one track into another every 5 minutes or so so started doing mash up mixes.I figured if i was using a program to mix then don't do what i could do on my turntables.
I know many DJ's don't class this art of mixing as real DJ'ing and of course they are right but i use my many years experience as a DJ to make these mixes work.
I've had many mixes played on The Streetsounds radio show with Morgan khan and also been lucky enough to be asked to mix up some albums(turning them into minimixes for promotional purposes).
My preference is old school but i do mix modern music also,basically,if i like it i'll mix it.
If there are any record labels or artists out there wanting to put out a megamix type album then(or minimix) inbox me.If i can work with it i will work with it.
