The Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin. This is a song in the style of "old-time electronica."

I approached the challenge of what "old-time electronica" might be and took an avenue thinking that perhaps it is a sub-genre where artists clothe a old rag-time style song in modern electronica. I decided to select the quintessential ragtime song, Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin and see what I could do to give it an electronica sound. What results is an up-beat and melodic track. I am not sure if it is dance-able but I think it turned out quite well.

I created this track using Bitwig Studio 1.0.13, mostly with the polysynth soft-synth and sampled drums. The midi version of the Maple Leaf Rag used in this track was created by Warren Trachtman.
