A cover of the Grateful Dead classic "Friend of the Devil" with Amy on lead vocal and her son Jonah on lead guitar. I sang a bit and added mandolin.

I tried an acoustic version of "Summertime". The arrangement I followed is Doc Watson's, also recently done to beautiful effect by Billy Strings and Marcus King. I had a summer head cold, which affected my vocal tone a bit.

First attempt at the bluegrass/oldtime classic, "Man of Constant Sorrow". WT on cajon. WT and I were banished to the rooftop due to a house full of covid limiting the ability to play inside. I dragged a microphone up there. Despite the NYC city noise, it was a cool place to record.

Did a version of "Years" by Sierra Ferrell - actually covering an original artist name Anderson. But I know the song from her insane performance on AV on Youtube. She so crushed it. WT on the drums, holding things down. I overdubbed a harmony and bass.

How many times has "Billie Jean" been covered in an arrangement that includes a mandolin? My guess is not many times. But here is a slowed down version of the iconic Michael Jackson song with an acoustic guitar and mandolin in the style of the Civil Wars version.

My remix of the song "Records in the sun" by the Late great John Hartford. I have loved this song my whole life and this is the first "remix" that I have made. This is a nod to the music I grew up loving while playing with ideas for the future.  I do not own the rights to the original recordings of this song. This is a remix not intended to be used for financial gain in the interest of creativity and critique.

I have an ongoing collaboration since 2018 with my friend Michael who lives in both Poland and LA. In the summer of 2025, Michael had a series of sessions with professional musician Avi on both guitar and vocals. I did production work and added bass. This is a version of John Prine's "How Lucky".

Die Laid Back Jazz Band stellt sich vor:
In einem Borgholzhausener Wohnzimmer noch ohne Bandnamen gegründet, aber bereits viele Jahre zuvor geplant und geträumt – und letztendlich 2016 ins Leben gerufen!
That’s Jazz! Der Gründer der Combo, Michael Grammel, hörte bereits als junger Mann den Jazz „der guten alten Zeit“. Vor allem die Anfänge des Jazz im frühen 20. Jahrhunderts sollten in einer Jazzbandgründung endlich ihren Anfang finden. Träume sollten endlich wahr werden.
So kamen nach und nach akustische Instrumente dazu und gaben und geben Old Time Jazz, Hot Jazz, sowie Swing und leichte „Ausflüchte“ in andere Richtungen durch die individuelle Interpretation der Musiker eine wunderbare Eigenständigkeit.
Viele der gespielten Klassiker sind bekannt. Aber auch zahlreiche „Schätze“ der 1920er bis 1940er Jahre, die den Schwerpunkt des Repertoires bilden, spielt die Laid Back Jazz Band für Sie.
Und, wie Sie es wünschen, vom Duo bis zur mini Bigband.
„Laid Back“ heißt so viel wie zurücklehnen, entspannen. Aber auch tanzbare Stücke sind natürlich mit dabei.
