An old orchestra track I wrote several years ago. Finally made the decision to upload it. Many layers, maybe almost too much going, but I will learn from it and I am still proud of this piece. I hope you enjoy it!

The Journey Begins

a sleepy freestyle I did a while ago that actually hits a vibe (for me at least bahahahahahaha)

Sleepy (Freestyle Zzz)

I wrote the lyrics and composed the melody in 2013. In 2022, I tuned it in XStudio 1.8.1 using Xiaoice, and added a small amount of accompaniment in a program called Sound Bug, leaving markers for the real accompaniment to be added later. Now I’ve found that XStudio 1.8.1 seems to have stopped working, and most of the instruments in Sound Bug have become paid, which left the original project sounding like a mess. I tried to salvage this version with Suno V5, but it still wasn’t quite right, so I stitched together three Suno outputs into a relatively better version.
The background illustration was created by me in 2012.

Inspiration for this song: Starting in 2010, for several consecutive Lunar New Years I could see a chicken and a duck on the rooftop across from my building. After the holiday they would disappear—I imagined they’d been eaten. In addition, during Spring Festival in 2013 (my third year of middle school), I walked past a restaurant and saw edible fishes in the tank by the entrance while festive music played outside, and I felt a bleak, twisted sorrow. This song is also the first one I wrote after my stylistic shift. It may have been influenced by Kikuo’s “Let’s Go to Heaven.”

In the end, I was shattered by everyone into heaven.
The festival when all gather is the day I’m erased.
Without me, everyone surely became friends, sitting together.
The festival of laughter is the day I’m erased.
No one noticed the tiny price of grinding me to pieces.
The festival on which I was released is the day I rose to heaven.
After all, the world keeps turning, only with me gone.
The festival on which I was redeemed is the once-first day.
So let me become Heaven’s Girl who will erase everyone as well.


Additional: Recently I got the MP3 of the Xiaoice ver. with the light accompaniment from an online friend, but it can’t be split into stems. I’ll keep modifying this version with Suno for now. Because of my studies, if I have to rewrite it from scratch, it will probably be at least 1.5 years from now.
