Track N° 4 on our finca am Electronica Balear compilation is a song by two undisputed icons of today´s musical landscape, each one of them in their very personal way. Julee Cruise, whose voice is widely known from David Lynch´s legendary movies and TV series meets Deee-Lite founder and much acclaimed producer DJ Dmitry from New York. The result is the wonderful “Your Girl”. It is a track which combines the urban Dub and Electronica sounds from DJ Dmitry´s sonic laboratory in his current base Berlin with the unreal, spheric voice and haunting songwriting of Julee Cruise. A fascinating and captivating combination, which is continuously receiving much praise and appreciation.

DJ Dmitry is a long-time friend of the label and also forms part of the projects The Leap (together with Haze) and D.N.A. (together with Arian 911), which are featured on finca am as well. It is a big pleasure to have this amazing artist on board. Please read his quote hereafter:

The magic island´s first record label OMMS Ibiza is launching a series of fascinating releases. Since 1995 the imprint has been instrumental in the development of Ibiza’s celebrated Balearic sound and is out to underpin its legacy with this very special sequence of digital EPs. The first assortment contains three remixes of Lux Second feat. Nuwella Love “Juice”, taken from the label´s latest venture finca am – Electronica Balear, a 2CD/DVD compilation, which Balearic icon Chris Coco appropriately called “a great collection of top quality, laid-back music in wonderful packaging”.

finca am is a collective made up of a record label, a CD and DVD compilation series, parties, sound systems, radio shows, visual art, electronic music and live music. Come dive into our Balearic world. 

finca am – Electronica Balear Vol. 1 

The compilation "finca am - Electronica Balear Vol. 1" consists of two CDs and one DVD in an elaborately and lovingly produced packaging. The 32-page booklet contains the complete song lyrics, unique illustrations by the renowned artist Will Barras and pictures by four of the most distinguished photographers of the island.

CD1 has been compiled by Arian a.k.a. Arian 911, who is a founding member of OMMS, as well as one of Ibiza´s most regarded djs and producers with various residencies at the island´s most famous clubs. Furthermore, none other then José Padilla, one of the undisputed godfathers of the Balearic style, actively supported the making of this compilation and also contributed his latest track “Dragonflies”, a co-operation with the Scottish singer and songwriter talent Kirsty Keatch. “Arian´s Back At The Finca Selection” features previously unreleased works of established OMMS projects such as Slow Pulse &amp; Cathy Battistessa, new OMMS recordings like Lux Second feat. Nuwella, as well as inspiring tracks of further artists from the Balearic scene. These include for example the legendary Harvey or the groundbreaking Four Tet. Another highlight is the song “I´m Your Girl”, for which Deee-Lite founder DJ Dmitry teamed up with Julee Cruise, the voice of David Lynch´s “Twin Peaks” soundtrack.

On CD2, OMMS finally assembles a timeless choice of the label´s worldwide known classics, which have been released on the earlier, most successful Café Del Mar volumes and on other renowned compilations. Never before have these songs been released together – really a long overdue tribute to all the artists who have been part of the journey during the first 15 years of the label.

The DVD impressively documents the long lasting and close co-operation of OMMS and the local video artists FR4M3. It shows a selection of the finest audiovisual productions from this time, as well as an introductory journey, which vividly demonstrates the label history and the before mentioned ideological and visionary aspect of the project. It also includes several OMMS music videos, partly showcasing the more club oriented side of the label.

Each single track, song or video on finca a.m. has a particular story to tell, but eventually it is one and the same story… the one of the true spirit of the Balearic experience, told in different tonalities. It is a story of diversity and tolerance, of a conscious attitude to life, carried by various musical styles, harmonically blending together. On finca a.m. this story is told by different artists from all over the planet…..

Cathy is generally booked for VIP & Luxury Brand events worldwide and she can be found annually lifting the crowds at the iconic Ibiza club openings & closings such as Space, Amnesia, Pacha, Sankys, Café del Mar etc. but she has also written, orchestrated and produced bespoke Live events for Fashion Catwalk Shows such as Armani, Prada, Helena Rubenstein, Marie Claire and Bread & Butter not to mention playing the after parties at fashion week events for Hotel Costes. 

With numerous MTV & BBC Radio and TV appearances under her belt and supporting DJ’s such as Fat Boy Slim on tour the accolade of her career by far, is receiving the personal invitation to perform for the Dalai Lama’s birthday celebration at the COBO Arena in Frankfurt.

Cathy is due to host her own Radio shows this summer 2019  both in Ibiza and Mallorca (..to be announced!).. where she will be inviting a host of hot collaborators into the studio to discuss all things Music & Art!  With a selection of quality digital releases ready to drop on her own label, ‘B THE LABEL’, throughout 2019 the label is also preparing to release  special edition Vinyl packages for 2020.
