Wind & Stars

As I get older,  the world seems to make less and less sense to me — and experience seems to become more and more undignified. I find myself desperately searching for small moments of connection that justify days, weeks, and years of struggle. Often I can't find those moments without the right people around me. This is a song about how those people make me feel young — like a kid — again. However, I don't mean this in a naive way. This is a mature state of mind, one that allows me truly to be where my feet are. So I can be curious again. 

Get By

Geordie Haley is a composer, improviser, educator and guitarist. Contributing to the creative music scenes of Fredericton NB, Toronto ONT, and now Halifax NS, Geordie has been presenting songs, rhythm based compositions and improvised music for over 25 years. 
Since returning to the Maritimes Geordie has been a featured artist in concert and festival programs by creative music presenters Upstream Music, Suddenly Listen, Canadian Music Center, The Motion Ensemble, Jazz East, Scotia Festival, Shattering the Silence Festival, and the Harvest Jazz Festival.

THRENODIES, a work for 4 musicians and 3 dancers based on Haley’s original compositions in collaboration with dancer/choreographer Susanne Chui was featured a during the 2012 Halifax Jazz Festival.

As an educator Geordie continues his practice at the NSCC Waterfront Campus Music Arts Department, teaching private lessons and instructing ensembles.
As a bandleader Geordie’s music can be heard at cd baby and on CBC RADIO 3.

I make music under the name "&", but use a few other artist names based on genre. Pangoi (referenced above) is for electronic, house, and more dance music, while Fellow Falls is for folk, singer-songwrite, more acoustic music.

I blend rock, funk, blues, and disco grooves from my home studio in Valencia, Spain. I write, arrange, and produce everything from scratch. I play bass, guitar, and keys.
