In the Easter Oratorio, composed in 1725, the first aria features Maria, the mother of James, expressing sorrow through a symbolic exchange of myrrh for a laurel wreath, signifying victory and invoking the Christus victor theme of Jesus as a triumphant warrior. Marked "adagio," this aria prominently includes an expressive solo flute, underscoring the emotional depth with an emphasis on the word "Verlangen" (longing).

Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of Jesus), Peter, and John mourn Jesus's death in the opening recitative, setting the stage for the subsequent soprano aria that conveys profound feelings of loss. The solo flute plays an “obbligato” role, meaning it is essential to the musical fabric, actively interacting with the soprano voice. The aria employs a "trio sonata" texture, where the flute and soprano engage in a musical dialogue, often joining in thirds, which enhances the sense of sensuousness and hope.
Although set in a minor key (b minor), Bach infuses the piece with a feeling of hope and anticipation for the resurrection, as reflected in the light and ascending melodic lines. Notably, the oratorio underwent revisions in 1735 and again in the 1740s, during which the scoring was altered, replacing a solo violin with the solo flute in the soprano aria, further solidifying its significance in the work.

Sheffield-born soprano Lindsey James is a first-class graduate of King's College London with a PGCE in Secondary Music Education from the UCL Institute of Education. During her studies, she secured singing lessons from the Royal Academy of Music whilst maintaining a busy schedule of tours, radio broadcasts and album recordings with the Choir of King's College London. Lindsey then trained further on the competitive Genesis Sixteen and VOCES8 Scholarship schemes. She now divides her time between her part-time role as Music Teacher and Choral Lead at NLCS (the UK's oldest academic girls' school), the running of her own private teaching studio, and a range of freelance concerts and workshops.

Jacqueline Pimienta is a privately trained soprano with varied experience, having performed opera, operetta, musical theater, and many art song and sacred music recitals in South Florida. Operatic roles include Lucy in The Telephone (Menotti), Clotilde in Norma (Bellini), Frasquita in Carmen (Bizet), and Miss Rose in Lakmé (Delibes). In addition, during her work with the Crittenden Opera Training Program she performed a number of other opera scenes. In the operetta repertoire, she has performed the roles of Marietta in Naughty Marietta (Herbert), Mascha in The Chocolate Soldier (Oscar Strauss), Yum-Yum in The Mikado and Josephine in HMS Pinafore (Gilbert and Sullivan). She has also sung the role of Ellen Manville in Susan Birkenhead’s musical comedy, What About Luv? Coral Gables Symphony and Opera featured Ms. Pimienta singing Mozart’s Alleluia in the pilot of American Ideal, a public television program. She has sung a number of concert programs of varied art song, lieder, and arias, as well as a complete program of 19th Century French vocal music.

	Along with her performance of secular classical repertoire, Ms. Pimienta is strongly drawn to and has a particular love and devotion to the oratorio and other classical sacred repertoire. Recently, she has enjoyed much positive response performing that literature in a variety of venues, ranging from church service music, as guest soloist on area church concert series, and as part of the literature on song recitals, which have included, among other selections, sacred works of Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart and Antonín Dvořák’s set of Biblical Songs. She continues to enhance her knowledge of that repertoire and seek out performing venues in which to share her love of sacred song.
       Ms. Pimienta received her Bachelor of Arts in Language and Linguistics from Florida Atlantic University, and is fluent in Spanish, French, and English. She is a professional interpreter and translator, as well as a language coach for classical singers. She is also trained in Middle Eastern dance and modern jazz. She continues to study voice and coach the vocal repertoire with professionals in the Palm Beach County area. Ms. Pimienta has twice won first-place in the classical division for her level at the National Association of Teachers of Singing district auditions. She was featured as the soprano soloist in Handel’s “Messiah” with the Indian River Pops Orchestra and and she offered a sacred music program for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church’s Lenten Concert Series in Stuart. Most recently, Ms. Pimienta sang the soprano solo in Fauré’s “Requiem” and in Felix Mendelssohn’s “Hear My Prayer”, both for The Robert Sharon Chorale.

András Gábor Virágh is one of the most sought after composer and organist of his generation.
Mr. Virágh has been the titular organist of the St. Stephen’s Basilica, Budapest, also assistant lecturer for forms and analysis, and solfeggio at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and the board member of the Hungarian Composers’ Union.
His biggest recent achivements are the two national organ –, three domestic and three international composition awards, including first prize of the Los Angeles international composition competition in 2006 (where there were no other prizes), the Oradea international composition competition in 2008, and the ISA (International Summer Academy, Austria) international composition competition in 2012 (where there were no other prizes). In 2007/08 he won the National Scholarship, and for 2010/11 the Annie Fischer Performers Scholarship. In 2009 he recieved the Superior Student of the Faculties of Sciences award of the University of Debrecen – which is an award won by 8 students out of 30.000.

In 2011 he awarded the Junior Prima Prize, which is the highest honour of the young generation. Mr Virágh graduated in 2013 at the Liszt Academy with a degree in Music Composition as the student of prof. Gyula Fekete, and he won the Composition Prize of the „Aurora Musis Amica” foundation and the Composition Prize of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. In 2015 and in 2017 Mr. Virágh awarded the Benedek Istvánffy composition prize and in 2017 he was honoured with the annual Ferenc Erkel Composer Award. The Metamorphosis for 14 players for ensemble was composed in 2017 at the invitation of the Warsaw Autumn Contemporary Music Festival, which celebrates its 60th anniversary. In 2018, the composition was aired more than 50 times by the radio channel France Musique.

In 2020 Mr. Virágh has awarded the Classical Composition of the Year award for his composition Gregorian notes for viola and organ.
Mr. Virágh’s compositions are published by the Ostinato Musikverlag (Germany), by the Norsk Musikforlag (Norway), by the Editions BIM (Switzerland) by the Kontrapunkt Music Publisher (Budapest) and by the EMB (Editio Musica Budapest). As an organist and as a composer he has performed in several countries in Europe in the UK, in Israel and in the USA as well.

Christopher Hart is an acclaimed musician and composer with a rich foundation in classical and contemporary music.

Christopher's love for composition took flight in 1990, and he has since established himself as a highly regarded film score composer, delivering five critically acclaimed scores for the 12 Westerns in 12 Months project. His score for "Counting Bullets" earned Festival Director’s Choice for Best Score at the Cowpokes International Film Festival in 2022, and the soundtrack for “Heart of the Gun" topped 40,000 streams on Amazon Music in a mere two months.

Encouraged by his mother, a church pianist, he began singing and playing instruments at a young age. He honed his skills through piano and trumpet lessons, choir performances, and college bands, eventually discovering a passion for opera during grad school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

In addition to his composing, Christopher is a versatile performer, singing with Opera Mississippi and arranging music for stage bands, concert bands, and choirs. With a vision to develop his hybrid film soundtrack style, blending orchestral and synth elements, he is dedicated to collaborating with film directors and bringing new life to each film. Christopher is driven to compose full-time and is eager to work with more directors, continually evolving his musical style. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa and now residing in McComb, Mississippi, Christopher Hart works as a director of music, arts, and media at a local church, inspired by his mother and encouraged by his wife, an artist in her own right.

Tenor John Henrikson is an active musician, having received his Masters Degree in Vocal Performance in Spring 2021. Most recently in Spring 2019, John played the role of Pluto in the MSU production Orpheus in the Underworld. John has also performed Dorvil in La Scala di Seta (2018), Dr. Blind in Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (2017), Abe Kaplan in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene (2017) and Don Curzio in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (2016). In October 2018, John participated in the MSU-China XII, Vocal Arts Collaboration, and sang in the Tianjin Concert Hall in China while abroad. John placed first in the 2016 National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in his division, and second place in 2017. He also won first prize in the Ethel J. Armeling Vocal Competition in 2015, and participated in the TTBB All-State Honors Choir the same year.
