Face To Face is the underground techno imprint run by Berlin-based mastering engineer Tim Xavier of Manmade Mastering. The label’s latest release sees Xavier distill a year of spontaneous studio sessions into an eight-track mini album that captures his instinctive, unfiltered approach to production, with music born from late-night experimentation and guided by intuition rather than perfectionism.

Immersed daily in the intricate details of other artists’ work, Xavier channels that constant exposure into his own creative outlet. The result is a raw yet focused collection of rhythmic sketches and percussive studies, music that values process over polish, expression over expectation. It’s a portrait of an artist creating purely for the sake of sound itself.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Icebox Acid Test" that's a stripped back and haunting display of restraint, class, and mesmeric detail. Rolling, tribal drums collide with phasing analogue textures and a stabbing bassline for a trippy and grooving ride through delicate rhythms.

El maestro de la laca y el detalle que conocemos de Manmade Mastering, Tim Xavier, vuelve a ponerse el traje de productor para abrir su nuevo mini-álbum con un primer corte que entra sonriendo y araña por dentro. “Out of My System” es un workout modular con espíritu electro y guiños clásicos a la escuela Kraftwerk, pero sin pastiche: secuencias elásticas, percusión nítida y ese “grit” de estudio que solo aparece cuando la idea manda y el perfeccionismo se queda fuera de la sala.

El lanzamiento —un compendio de bocetos rítmicos y estudios percusivos esculpidos a golpe de intuición tras largas jornadas de masterización— funciona como cuaderno de campo: Xavier destapa su proceso en bruto y deja que el pulso decida. Como obertura, “Out of My System” marca el tono: groove jovial, timbres sintéticos que chisporrotean y un bajo que empuja sin prisas, pensado para DJs que prefieren tensión sostenida a fuegos artificiales.

El disco completo, “Out of My System” (FIIFD022), llega el viernes 7 de noviembre de 2025 en vinilo y digital a través de Face To Face, el sello que el propio Xavier pilota desde Berlín. Aquí no hay caza de hits, hay estado de ánimo: herramientas con carácter, textura y una pegada que pide cabina oscura.
