Weird not-so minimal deep house flirts with broken jazz records, winks at French finesse, and dives headfirst into a pool of lo-fi and avant-garde whimsy. This track crackles and hisses at every corner – like an old shellac record rediscovered in a dusty attic somewhere between Detroit and Paris.

Warm e-pianos purr like elderly cats while a saxophone, dragged through inter-dimensional filters, shifts from silky smooth to gloriously glitchy – like a broken VHS tape still trying to groove. A fine retro haze blankets everything, delicately sprinkled like nutmeg over a sinful café au lait.

The groove lives somewhere between pampa 'esque skewed sonic daydreams, perlon'esque dadaist elegance, and the jazzy understatement of a smoky Berlin backroom. 

This is house music as surreal cartoon: charmingly off-beat, blissfully unhinged, nodding slyly toward free jazz, winking at 4/4, and tugging your soul  and heart into a dance they didn’t know they wanted.

Gehen wir wieder geradeaus oder schauen wir nur da drauf? Ist das wieder mal nen Traum oder bin ich in nem Lauf? Alles wirkt so Grau oder bin ich das halt auch? Ich weiß es nicht, bitte hilf mir raus. Ich versuch es wirklich, glaub mir. Ich nehm' es nicht mehr so persönlich und hab noch leichte Aussicht. Bin nicht mehr so viel Taub und Dicht, hab da ab und zu ein Augenblick.  Entwickel mich von Taugenichts zu "trau-ich-mich". Wenn ab und an der Glaube kickt, dann lass den das mal Glauben - ich... beweg mich zwischen Chaos, Nahtod und Erfahrung. Is' nich immer Lirularumdarum, sondern auch mal abfuck, viel zu viel Gras und das Delirium planen. Erscheint dir alles doch so surreal, ja dann bist du das halt auch. Komm ich wieder auf den ersten Reim, ja dann erscheinst du wieder raus. Deswegen hat's sich nicht verkauft und jetzt schaust du nur da drauf. Komischer Lauf oder findest du nicht auch? Oder findest du nicht auch, yau?
Komm ich wieder rein, erschein die Lieder tiefer und du bist schon wieder weit - hinter oder vorgerannt, erträgst du Winter nur durch Wortgewandt und schmeckt das alles wieder bitter bist du aus dem Hinterhof hervorgerannt. Meine Worte öffnen Tor und Wand, scheinbar in jedem Ort bekannt denn sie halten sich die Ohr'n gebannt. Ich schreib mich wieder frei und bin nicht mehr so erfor'n verdammt. Ich frag mich nicht mehr ob ich könnte, ich frag mich ob ich "Torchen" kann. Verstehste. Das ist Leben. Die Kunst sich zwischen Hin und Her zu bewegen, es verschwinden die Fäden und der gleiche Rabe an der gleichen Ecke erscheint dir plötzlich wie'n Segen.

Avant-garde house music between lofi- and minimal / deep house, techno, glitch and electronica, plunderphonics and house, the Westend Ghetto Guys somehow occupy a niche of their own and live from strange glitches and bizarre sounds. Bootleg remixes and mashups for 'iamamiwhoami' also lead to an official remix ("N") and collaborations with other musicians (e.g. 3PM, Minute Taker, Christopher Norman, Klordop / Tis, Morgen Wurde) from the Swedish pioneers of viral video chips. Not surprisingly, the collective from the Westend Ghetto even published sample libraries for the renowned magazine "Computer Music" and for the 'sounds2sample'-Platform and offers highly acclaimed "ensembles" in the Reaktor community ("Native Instruments").

Selector bogotano con más de 10 años explorando los rincones oscuros del house. Mi propuesta se basa en el sincretismo musical: sets eclécticos que buscan huirle a la monotonía y abrazan la exploración de estilos. Mi gusto en la electrónica lo forjaron sellos como Innervisions y Kompakt, y artistas como Dixon, Mano le Tough y Aera. Hice parte de un colectivo de música pre-pandemia y me encuentro trabajando en un proyecto personal de curaduría de musica latinoamericana. Busco conectar con quienes han destilado su gusto musical más allá de lo convencional.

Thaddeus X, a Dominican DJ and music producer, has spent over ten years deeply connected to the culture of the Dominican Republic, where he has honed his distinctive sound. His music combines elements from different times and genres, merging modern electronic rhythms with echoes of the past. Influenced by the European club scene of the early 2000s, his sets are charged with the raw energy of House and Techno, yet he reaches beyond to include touches of New Wave, EBM, and the soulful grooves of Leftfield disco. What sets him apart are the subtle hints of post-punk and psychedelia, which create unexpected moments on the dance floor.

Unconstrained by a single genre, Thaddeus X's records span house, techno, trance, and more. His true passion lies in experimentation. Through his side projects, Velvet Surf and The Selenite, he ventures into the fringes of mainstream club culture, investigating sounds that are often overlooked but remain compelling. His releases on labels such as Minds Alike, Mouse Music Black, Deeplomatic Recordings, and Aletheia Recordings reflect his ongoing journey—a quest for the next surprise, the next connection, and those unanticipated moments that make music come alive.

In his work, there is a relentless pursuit of something deeper a desire to bridge the familiar with the unknown, creating experiences that resonate beyond the usual confines of the club. Thaddeus X is not just producing tracks; he is crafting narratives without words, inviting listeners to join him on a path that is as much about feeling as it is about sound. His journey is one of exploration, both personal and artistic, drawing in those who are moved by the unique mix of influences he brings to his music.
