         Digital technologies are transforming the way basic rights such as freedom of expression and access to information are exercised, protected and violated, and are also leading to the recognition of new rights.
What is digital rights and it origin?
         Digital rights recognise the right of individuals to access, use, create and publish digital media, and the right to access computers, electronic devices, and telecommunications networks necessary to exercise them. One of the flagships in the defence of cyber-rights is the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a non-profit organisation founded by Internet activists John Perry Barlow, Mitch Kapor and John Gilmore. How do you use freedom of speech?
          This includes the right to express your views aloud (for example through public protest and demonstrations) or through:
1. Published academic articles, books or leaflets.
2. Television or Radio Broadcasting.
3. Works of Art.
4. E-learning and Teaching 
5. Advocate Culture of Human Rights and Peace
Why the U.N. is focusing on digital rights during humanitarian crises?
         Digital rights violations enable and escalate offline violence, deepening humanitarian crises. The calculated attacks targeting digital systems essential to people’s safety and wellbeing are unacceptable. At this critical juncture in history, when human rights violations are rampant from  Ukraine to Myanmar, UN prepared a new briefing on the 49th session of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council. The briefing digital rights at the U.N. HRC 49 and Beyond, takes stock of the state of digital rights at the global level (4th Generation of Human Rights), exploring key digital rights issues during this session. It was aimed at educating delegates on the impact of these issues on human rights, and guiding them in next steps for advancing global norms and standards that will protect human rights.
