With the Scratch EP, Scottish techno powerhouse Gary Beck delivers four razor-sharp cuts that bring raw energy and dancefloor pressure to FJAAK’s label CROWD. Known for his unmistakable grooves and stripped-down power, Beck presents a no-frills EP that bridges classic techno aesthetics with forward momentum.

Opening with the single ‘French System’, the EP kicks off in full throttle. It’s a propulsive roller built around tough drums, catchy synths, a female vocal leading the way and Beck’s signature percussive tension. Title track ‘Scratch’ follows with a twitchy, angular rhythm that spirals around a fragmented vocal motif and bold machine-funk energy with tense breaks leading to ecstatic drops.

On the record’s flip side, ‘How Do You Feel’ keeps the level high, fusing jacking rhythms with a funky vocal and a Beck’s heavy signature kicks. Finally, ‘Eclipse’ closes the EP pushing the energy into darker territories with relentless drive, its distorted pulse and industrial edge.

This release marks a fierce debut on CROWD for Gary Beck – four no-nonsense weapons crafted for peak-time moments and the rawer corners of the club. A heavy-hitting addition to the label’s catalog and a must-have for techno selectors with a taste for precision and punch.

Hailing from the sun-drenched shores of Goa, Aditya Ashok, the mastermind behind the OX7GEN project, is a true craftsman in the world of electronic music. His impressive history with imprints like HE.SHE.THEY., Tru Thoughts, and Hospital Records speaks to a respected and versatile talent. Now, steering his own ship with Fresh Air Records, he unveils the “Body Mechanics” EP, a four-track journey that masterfully stitches together the robust grids of Techno with the infectious, colourful grooves of House Music, resulting in a truly vibrant listen.

The artist describes his motivation with genuine passion, stating: “Once again, with a blend of trepidation and joy, I’ve curated a collection of four tunes that resist tidy categorisation. Creating Fresh Air Records was my way of fostering raw, honest expression with the intention of creating music that breathes with both novelty and soul.” This commitment to unfiltered creativity is the very heartbeat of the entire release, giving each composition its unique character and depth.

This vision is immediately apparent in the opening cut, “Loco Ono.” The track is a brilliant, off-kilter rollercoaster that perfectly showcases Ashok’s Goa roots. The arrangement feels like a psychedelic ritual, built on a foundation of expertly swung, trance-inducing percussion that compels your body to move. A wonderfully peculiar synth melody worms its way through the mix, creating a playful yet hypnotic atmosphere that is entirely captivating.

My last night at Burning Man 2025, I rode with friends through the deep playa at sunset, soaking in the colors and energy. Just in time... well, almost... to witness the temple burn. Exhausted, only two friends and I wandered off to explore a random camp where I played a set.  When I returned to my camp to check on my friends, everyone wanted to rest before the last sunrise… Well I had others plans... I wanted to play on a big fat art car!  I left 1001 nights at 8:15 & A and hit the playa on my bike. Pretty much straight away I bumped into this nosy spaceship making its way across the sands.. SMILE HIGH! Decision was made... I will be taking off outta space with all the passengers aboard! I asked the driver if they needed a DJ... He said yes,  hop in, you’re up next. And here’s that set! Big thanks to Lucien and the Smile High crew for making this night so special and so much fun. Launch permission granted thank you very much! Sorry to my friends... I had to ride back from the deep playa and made it just before sunrise and another great adventure...

The Visitors EP is a transcendent tour of Flour’s auditory cosmos and fascinating inner world, essential for all lovers of hard techno’s trancier moments, it finds itself perfectly at home in EXHALE’s cutting edge catalogue.

Kicking off the EP, which he describes as ‘a four-track journey exploring identity and transformation’ is the darkly beguiling ‘Mystery Land’, where pummeling kicks and trancey pads take us into hyperspace as we are drawn into ‘the discovery of an unknown dimension’. On title track ‘Visitors’ we go deeper still as Flour invites us to ‘encounter one’s own alter ego’: driving rhythms are offset with haunting operatic vocals, intense building synths and a broodingly urgent break building tension as a voice warns of ‘system failure’. Powerful peaktime gear. Next up is single ‘The World Beyond’, a transcendent fusion of hard techno and psytrance for the depth of the rave. Melodic beeps over a fiercely propulsive kick erupt into squelchy acid textures and we are catapulted into the dark mystery beyond. Dancefloors from Berlin to Napoli will go hard for this one. The closing chapter of this epic sonic journey is delivered by ‘Eternals’, ‘a timeless, introspective echo’ that invites us to consider the ‘other side’ as a limitless space within. Trancey and pumping, haunting vocal samples and pads give the track an ethereal edge, while the constancy of the kick keeps our feet on the ground (and moving).
