Biography:

From a young age, Kia had always been surrounded by music. As early as elementary school, Kia was involved in the Virginia State Choir and performing on TV Networks such as WETA and PBS.

Playing the Piano since age 8, Kia has always had a passion for composing and writing his own music.

In middle school and high school, Kia continued this musical passion by playing the flute in Band, as well as joining Men's Choir from 2000-2003. This all culminated in Kia performing in the 2001-2002 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. During this time, Kia also entered and learned at honed is craft at dancing at DoYouThinkYouCanDance and Monsters of Hip Hop, learning from dance legend choreographers such as Marty, Geo Hubela, Mr. Wiggles and Rhapsody. Kia was also part of the Virginia State Choir from 2001-2003.

Dating back to 2003, Kia K (a.k.a. DJ Kia), has become a mainstay in the nightlife of the Washington DC metro area. Since the age of 17, Kia has taken it upon himself to create a sound with a different edge. His creativity creates an intense yet unique atmosphere. His range is truly undefined, as there is no one real genre he is categorized under.

His style is best described in his own words as “house, synth, hip hop, with some pop, electro, and some international flavor all mixed into one. It’s a sound that you just can’t help but to move when you hear it.”

Kia has also gained popularity by performing at DCs finest night spots including Lima Lounge, Ultrabar, Darna Lounge, Fur, Eden, and Rosebar just to name a few.

Kia constantly gives back to the community. A graduate from George Mason University, he has done events at no charge for many student organizations across campus. Kia has also performed on the same night as many world renowned DJs and international artists such as Deep Dish, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Filo & Peri, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz.

International Artists Include: Arash, Andy, Kamran & Hooman, Ebi, Pouya, Sepideh, Afshin, Black Cats, and Raghav. Not only being a DJ, Kia also is involved in singing, producing, and acting/modeling, eventually hoping to break through in all of these categories.

Kia always makes it a top priority to always give back to the community. A graduate from George Mason University, he has done events at no charge for many student organizations across campus and continues to work with all different charity organizations and relief funds in efforts to raise awareness and relief. From an academic standpoint, Kia received his juris doctorate in 2013 and is currently a partner at his own firm Kondori & Moorad, LLP.
