I originally composed Strange Metronome while following a metronome — and it felt strange… Later, I discovered that my recording software (Logic Pro) could detect the tempo of my playing without a metronome. What a liberation! But I kept the original title… 
J’ai d’abord composé Strange Metronome en suivant un métronome, avec un résultat étrange… Puis j’ai découvert que mon appli d’enregistrement (Logic Pro) pouvait détecter le tempo de mon jeu de piano sans métronome. Enfin libre ! Mais j’ai gardé le titre d’origine…

Close to Robert is a French composer born in Scotland, pianist, producer and environmental activist, formerly elected to the town hall of Toulouse, France. 
His music mixes pop melodies, crooner voice, catchy bass lines, jazzy piano and synth solos. 
His compositions would be different without the Beatles, Bowie, Gainsbourg, Bashung, 80s Pop, the Roland JX3P synth... Close to Robert likes eclectic musicians, pop in the broad sense, like Chilly Gonzales, Jeanne Added, The Divine Comedy, Lana del Rey, Benjamin Biolay, Emilie Simon, Sébastien Tellier, Get Well Soon...
Ecology takes a major place in his lyrics, in a perspective that is both realistic and optimistic, because we have no other choice but to believe in humanity.

Graphic artist, writer, and just a budding musician.

Playing piano is my daily therapy against stress. That also repels the rodents that attempt to squat my attic in winter !

As an insomniac, I mainly play at night. Each improvisation is like a snapshot of my mood and state of mind of the instant.

I record almost everything I play. From time to time one of these improvisations inspires me enough, and I use it as a basis for a composition.
