Piano Improvisation No. 64 | Relaxing Piano Music

This song is about my experience with misophonia, meaning sound oversensitivity. I recorded it because Ive heard annoying sounds through the door, flashbacking me into school kid who everyday over and over was tormented by kitchen sounds at home and not only that. It contributed to my hateful attitude towards humanity, that appears randomly when the sounds are again there. The most frustrating part is that they are invisible. It makes me angry at I dont know what, something very abstract. The feeling is like something is making me insane and my sanity is gone. The world is attacking my nervous system and some people are surprised and dont believe this is true. Some do know. We are not alone in this.

Piano Improvisation No. 65 | Epic/Emotional Piano Music

Opening the Gates

This piece came out of the same session as the previous tone poem.  Typically, these pieces come while I sit at the piano and play what comes through, it's interesting to see what a difference a few hours make.  Hope you enjoy!

Tone Poem 2 6_13-25

The Music of Sound...really!!  It's all grist for the mill.  I visualize Sound/Music as colors, shapes and forms rather than notes in a scale.  I look upon each of these pieces as individual environments and/or sculptures in which to spend some time, looking round, feeling the curves, hanging out, exploring... Each composition is based on different elements, structures and rules or lack thereof.  Consequently, each is unique unto itself.  

Blissfully free of genre, everything is fair game:  beats; melodies; disquiet; washes; pulses; broken clichés and memes; subliminals; words and voices; chaos; sonorities; field recordings; indeterminacy; world music; the holy; the gutter; otherworld music; drones; synths; samples, etc. etc.  etc.  

I enjoy entering into the mitochondria of what makes a sound  that particular sound and then genetically change it into something entirely different than what it was - with just the essence lingering.  I also like to explore the "in-betweens" - spaces between beats, frequencies, timbres, spaces, tones, etc. In large part, simply, I'm curious to explore it all.  Suffice it to say, the wider your aperture the more you will hear and experience.  Et voila!

Oh!  Headphones will likely provide a more fulsome listening experience for many of the pieces.

Nous vaincrons ensemble le doute, tous nos fantômes de mort et de peur n'y pourront rien, nous sommes chevaliers de la Terre et chevauchons les mondes imbriqués l'un dans l'autre.
D'un univers sans fin à un monde solide, d'une cage de feu à un nuage heureux, le passage étroit jouxte la lumière de la nuit obscure. Force de renoncement à tout, espace intime et infime de la vie.
La musique est lumière dans les ténèbres, tout est vibration, la fin est mot ou le nom d'une porte, même les murs de la plus dure des pierres sont des voiles légers pour l'âme sur l'étincelle de vie. Of an endless universe to a solid world, a cage of fire in a happy cloud, the narrow passage adjoins the light of the dark night. Strength of renunciation of everything, intimate and tiny space of the life.
The music is light in the darkness, everything is vibration, the end is word or the name of a door, even the walls of the hardest some stones are veil light for the soul on the spark of life..
