In HipHop, there’s been a stigma lurking among the community. The concept of artist being considered old and washed up is a thing of the past. If you’re not aware, the top artist in today’s industry are well over the 30 year-old aging mark. It just seems like it’s a “young man’s game”, because of what The media decides to tell us. So how about we show you an artist that’s an example of refreshing his career every project. His name is Planet Asia.
The legendary Fresno, CA MC Planet Asia continues his streak of consistent work by dropping his latest project titled “No Retirement”. This collaborative, 13 song album, produced entirely by LA super-producer group Local Astronauts, is an ode to how legendary MC‘s are supposed to make music to stay relevant in today’s hip-hop.
The project intro starts off with some encouraging words from the late great Nip, discussing the importance of being independent followed by lyricism from Asia to bring in the album. Followed by two hard hitting lyrical joints “Incognito” and “Deadly Dialogue”. Standout tracks like “Cigar Lounge” feat Washeyi Choir, “Cognac”, and “Easy On The Pedal” featuring Jay Worthy are examples of how King Medallions has transitioned his sound to cover more smoother, heavy sample type beats. He also goes into full performance mode with songs “Watch Out” and “Already Know” geared to rock crowds for sure.
“No Retirement” is a body of work that is carefully crafted from track to track and does not disappoint the traditional Hiphop fan nor the new wave of MC curriculum. It reminds us of why we have survived for 50 years strong, and with artist like Planet Asia, the future’s in good hands.

Dj Lala is a female dj from California, USA that has been making a lot of noise, with music and fashion, all across the country. Dj Lala comes from a musically inclined family, born and raised in Orange County, California. Her work has been published in the OC Weekly Newspaper, and making history as the first female Dj to make the front cover story. Dj Lala is fundamentally a west coast California girl whose career has been vastly growing touring throughout the U.S. and internationally with female Los Angeles rapper Reverie, and known first for the female dj to an infamous pimp, west coast legend Suga Free. You can find Dj Lala mainly spinning on her own accord, and for others, as she is well sought after. She has been on festivals and stages like Paid Dues, SXSW, Royal Arena, Hip Hop Kemp, to opening up for artists like The Beatnuts and being on stage dj’ing for Suga Free, Snoop Dogg and the Dog Pound Gang, Too Short, and Inspectah Deck of the Wutang Klan; just to name a few. Dj LaLa is not only involved in the dj’ing world, but she is also a host and radio dj for Downtown Hell Radio, resident dj for Rhyme Festival in Los Angeles, and a fashion mogul, modeling for a luxurious jewelry line by Ebony, winner of Fashion Week jewelry line in LA and Las Vegas. With a documentary feature length film soon to premiere showcasing her life and career; as well as touring, modeling, breaking with her crew Battle Holex Crew, and recording. It is easy to see that Dj Lala will soon become a huge part of Hip Hop history in this day in era. 
Dj Lala is now working on a new mixtape series Record Waves that captivates the sounds of new uprising artists from all over the globe with no limitations to genres, time frames, languages, or categories, just GOOD music. Her mixtape is soon to drop this December 2018...follow DJ LALA

The Local Astronauts have produced and worked with a variety of Hip Hop, Alternative and R&B artists, including Aceyalone, Jay Worthy, Method Man, Robert Glasper, Conway the Machine, Larry June, Cali Swag District, Papoose, Planet Asia, The Outlaws and many others. Their songs have also been features in various Television and Film syncs such as; Summer Night, The Package (Netflix), Shots Fired (FOX network), L.A.s Finest (FOX, Netflix) and others.
Badru and PolyRob met in Leimert Park at a legendary open-mic event called Project Blowed in the early 2000’s. At that
time PolyRob was a Rapper /Producer in a local rap group named PoliDony while fostering his eventual partnership with
Big Wy, CEO Wacko and 319 music. Badru just transitioned from working as a promoter, A&R and tour manager at Def
Jam records, Interscope records, Priority records before becoming General Manager of Project Blowed recordings /
Decon media and managing various Rap Artists like Freestyle Fellowship and others.
In 2019 the Local Astronauts duo began to expand into a collective focused on developing talent and curated
collaborations, presently consisting of additional Producers; Tony Ozier, Solini, Dae One and vocalists; Washeyi Choir, A1
Krashn and Lovey Jean. They also release re-occuring projects with T.F, Meaku and many other talented Artists.
