For September's Field Trip we had Boston-based DJ/Producer Lucent bring her arsenal of squelching synths and downrightly filthy basslines to Zuzu and the Playground crowd. We led off the night with a. Trip Monitor tag, playing 15 min sets between Miss Haze, SkullDuck, Synesthesia, and myself for the first hour forty-five minutes of the show. Lucent took over for an extended headliner set and cooked up a sweat in the attendees of the night.

here's an old playground rhyme i decided to turn into a track. funny enough, this song still somehow plays into the story of the album. this rhyme was once a game that me and other kids in church and on the playground used to play, sorta like patty cake, except at the end when you hear "chop" you had to be the first one to "karate" chop the other player. eventually when me and my ex got together, we would play this for shits and gigs to settle decisions. whoever won made the decision. the massive breakdown represents the relationship deteriorating and falling apart more and more, as it becomes angrier, and angrier, and ANGRIER. eventually, much like the relationship, the song falls completely apart, leading into the next track. who would've known a fun little playground rhyme song could have such a deep meaning underneath?

It was an honor to play at Opulent Temple's annual Sacred Dance (White) party at Burning Man. This year's event was at Playground, and I warmed up the crowd with some bouncy progressive house. The lineup was out of this world, featuring sets from Syd Gris, Adam Ten, Vintage Culture, Carl Cox, and John Summit. After a week of bad weather, Wednesday night was finally clear, and the crowd was more than ready to get down. Enjoy!

Neurofunk producer Diode came through the Playground studio to lay down a DJ set. As per usual I opened up the show with a half hour of high energy DnB to get the audience prepared for Diode's aural assault. He played an hour plus of originals and hard hitting tunes before we tagged out the rest of the normal airtime. We did get a bit of extra recess, with Lucent hopping on the decks as we stretched an extra hour of tunes into this week.

As we hit the last episode of September, we wanted to really pack a punch! ReVaz3 came through with a flurry of amens and roaring basslines during his debut on the Playground. I opened up the stream with a half hour of jungle before ReVaz3 took over with an hour long run across DnB/jungle/hardcore and left us all in awe. The two of us split the end of the show, bouncing our energy back and forth across the decks.

Mr. EyesLee is a Boston-based DJ specializing in the soulful side of jungle and DnB, matching vocals and basslines with three deck blends and cuts to bring the listener on an auditory journey. Mr. EyesLee plays sets full of blends and moods from 160 bpm and up, taking the listener on a journey from start to finish. Whether 160, jungle, liquid, or rollers, he always has a heavy focus on basslines that move the crowd, wasting little energy as he blends tracks and themes and keeps the dancefloor wanting more

After coming up through the southeastern US rave scene in the late 90s/early 00s, Mr. EyesLee now primarily performs around New England, currently holding residencies at elements (the longest running single-venue DnB weekly in North America) and Playground: Field Trip in Cambridge, MA, and has played events from small weeklies, to long-running monthlies, and large festivals from CT to ME. Highlights include Tropical Dreams in Sturbridge, MA, Tight Crew raves in Providence, RI and Boston, MA, and opening support for acts such as BCee, Degs, and Paul T & Edward Oberon. 

In addition to live shows, Mr. EyesLee also runs the Playground, “Your Sunday destination for dnb, jungle, and other high tempo tunes”, streaming Sundays 8-11PM EDT, on Twitch.tv/MrEyesLee, and first Sunday live Field Trips at Zuzu in Cambridge, MA, with guests having come from around New England and beyond in 200+ shows and counting. The Playground focuses primarily on Drum & Bass/Jungle and associated subgenera, letting DJs showcase their take on DnB. Guests have come from around New England and beyond, with every state in the region, along with CA, NY, NJ, and VA, having been represented at least once among the 200+ weekly shows to date.

The Antillean Artist Corne Van Der Heijden, hailing from Curacao N.A., was nurtured in an environment rich in various musical styles that continue to flow through his veins, defining his sound today. At 18, he transitioned to Eindhoven, in The Netherlands, for his studies, believing this would signify the end of his musical pursuits.
