Craig Rumble and D Torrance (The Vibe Syndicate, Stakeout Radio) came through the Playground studio to treat us to a jungle expedition. I opened the show with a half hour of liquid dnb and rollers before the duo took over for a two hour tag. I closed out the stream with a short halftime set as we felt the bass groove and bounced on the drums.

After a couple of heavy weeks within the New England dance music community (RIP Teddy and Lex), the mood was right for a deep dive in tempo on the Playground. I opened up with a half hour of downtempo and halftime before Twist of Fate took us on a two hour deep progressive house excursion. I finished out the stream with some vocal house tracks to round out the night.

Playground is a song I wrote on swings in my childhood neighbourhood. I wanted to capture the details of that moment and set about recording sounds near my home. As well as, this feeling of wanting something bigger but not being willing to let go of the extraordinary mundane life I possessed. Sacrifice, bravery, leaping with nothing but hope and an all consuming anemoia. Do I look back, or do I leave you behind?

The turntablist DL came through from Western MA to show his skills on the decks for this week's Playground episode. I led off the show with an hour+ of liquid and rolling vibes, getting a little grimy toward the end of my set. DL took over and dazzled us with his deft capabilities for an hour and a half of rollers, flavored with scratches and hip hop flair. I finished out the last half hour of the show, taking us back down after such heights.

WISHMASTER
Formé en 2007, ce groupe de metal symphonique et progressif se distingue par son travail de mise en scène sonore: chaque morceau se veut le chapitre d'une épopée inspirée de mythologies, de légendes ou de contes fantastiques.

ANITA FINNEGAN
Elle incarne le versant brut et émotionnel de Wishmaster. Sa voix, tour à tour puissante et vulnérable, est capable de transmettre l'urgence d'une bataille ou la détresse d'un personnage en quête de rédemption.
Parallèlement à ses activités avec Wishmaster, Anita développe une carrière solo où elle explore une facette plus intimiste et personnelle de son univers musical, mêlant folk, pop, rock, metal ou dark ambient.

CASSANDRE (DESROSIERS)
Soprano accomplie, elle apporte à Wishmaster une dimension éthérée et aérienne. Sa maîtrise des registres élevés crée des harmonies lumineuses en contraste avec les riffs métalliques, renforçant l'impact dramatique et la profondeur narrative des compositions.
Sous le nom de scène CASSANDRE, elle se lance à son tour en solo: son premier single est annoncé pour très bientôt, promettant de prolonger l'esthétique sombre et poétique qu'on lui connaît au sein du groupe.

Mr. EyesLee is a Boston-based DJ specializing in the soulful side of jungle and DnB, matching vocals and basslines with three deck blends and cuts to bring the listener on an auditory journey. Mr. EyesLee plays sets full of blends and moods from 160 bpm and up, taking the listener on a journey from start to finish. Whether 160, jungle, liquid, or rollers, he always has a heavy focus on basslines that move the crowd, wasting little energy as he blends tracks and themes and keeps the dancefloor wanting more

After coming up through the southeastern US rave scene in the late 90s/early 00s, Mr. EyesLee now primarily performs around New England, currently holding residencies at elements (the longest running single-venue DnB weekly in North America) and Playground: Field Trip in Cambridge, MA, and has played events from small weeklies, to long-running monthlies, and large festivals from CT to ME. Highlights include Tropical Dreams in Sturbridge, MA, Tight Crew raves in Providence, RI and Boston, MA, and opening support for acts such as BCee, Degs, and Paul T & Edward Oberon. 

In addition to live shows, Mr. EyesLee also runs the Playground, “Your Sunday destination for dnb, jungle, and other high tempo tunes”, streaming Sundays 8-11PM EDT, on Twitch.tv/MrEyesLee, and first Sunday live Field Trips at Zuzu in Cambridge, MA, with guests having come from around New England and beyond in 200+ shows and counting. The Playground focuses primarily on Drum & Bass/Jungle and associated subgenera, letting DJs showcase their take on DnB. Guests have come from around New England and beyond, with every state in the region, along with CA, NY, NJ, and VA, having been represented at least once among the 200+ weekly shows to date.

Igor Marijuan is the current director of Ibiza Global radio and Akasha Ibiza. And is actively involved in broadcasting club sounds on the radio using many platforms, inside both radio booths and at clubs.
