E' arrivata una multa.
No, fortunatamente non c’è nessuna multa da pagare, nessuna sanzione. Wet Eyes è nata in notti insonni, quando mio figlio appena nato piangeva in modo inconsolabile e noi non riuscivamo a capire il perché.
"Perché piangi, topino?" gli chiedevamo. E la sua unica risposta erano altre lacrime grandi, inarrestabili. E a volte, veniva da piangere anche a noi.
Piangere non dovrebbe mai essere una vergogna. Dovremmo sognare un mondo in cui mostrare le proprie debolezze non sia visto come un difetto. Solo le macchine sono perfette per un preciso compito. Ma noi esseri umani abbiamo emozioni. Abbiamo una moltitudine di pensieri, anche mentre eseguiamo lo stesso preciso compito.

There’s no fine to pay, no ticket, no penalty. Wet Eyes was born on sleepless nights, when my newborn son would cry inconsolably, and we couldn’t understand why.
"Why are you crying, my love?" we would ask. And his only answer was more tears—big, unstoppable tears. And sometimes, we felt like crying too.
Crying should never be a shame. We should dream of a world where showing our weaknesses is not seen as a flaw. Only machines are perfect for a single task. But we—humans—have emotions. We have countless thoughts even as we carry out the same action.

Wet Eyes (Mi è arrivata una multa)

'The Lighthouse.' is a song about a lighthouse. Well, sort of. I wrote it during COVID, channeling feelings that I felt when visiting a small lighthouse town in Australia called 'Port Macquarie' at the start of 2020, which was one of the most memorable times I've had. Hope you enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed writing it :)
