It has been a really long time since I shared the decks with DJ Bee @jadzarush, my good old friend with whom I started organizing trance parties in my hometown (as Pitch 'n' Destroy), all the way back in 2002. Nope, it is not a typo, this mix is actually 20 years old.
If you ask most people of our generation, who love electronic music, what is the best period of clubbing in Montenegro, they will most likely tell you - Fuka Đusla. This very small club (literally translated, Fuka Đusla = sweet coffee) in the heart of the capital city, was the main (and only?) gathering place for clubbers and electronic music lovers back then, in the period 2004-2006. Back then, my friend Janko (DJ Bee) and me, together with our friend Aleksandar (DJ Sasha), were doing psytrance parties as Pitch 'n' Destroy, first trance DJ organization in Montenegro, and we had a lot of successful parties at this club. Some may still remember our (in)famous "Happy Trance Year" party series, which started at this very club, on January 13th 2005. What everyone definitely remembers is that it was a completely different time, without smartphones, social networks or virtual celebrities, but with much more love and true passion for music.
This mix is ​​part of the Tranceport 01 party, held on October 14th 2004, and although the sound is of lower quality (it was recorded on some strange minidisc, with 80 minutes limit, from which it was ripped, and I don't have a clue how), and although some of these tracks certainly haven't aged well (at that time we were quite focused on the Israeli full on sound), it definitely has high sentimental value and serves as a reminder of some distant, but by no means forgotten times. And those Pioneer CDJ-100s are actually still alive and working :)

Bee Vs Pseehaw - Tranceport @ Fuka Djusla (14.10.2004)

The oldest mixes that I've managed to dig from my vaults are two short promo mixes made by my dear old friend and colleague Janko Raščanin a.k.a. DJ Bee @jadzarush. Both of them were recorded on January 4th 2004, on our old trusted equipment: Pioneer CDJ-100s players and Gemini PS-626i mixer. They were recorded directly on audio cassette tape and then ripped to wav/mp3 (insert "technologia!" meme here). Therefore, the sound quality is not the best and there are several technical 'glitches' here and there, which in my opinion, only add to the sentimental value of these mixes :)
Our trance organization "Pitch 'n' Destroy" was barely 2 years young and we were full of energy and enthusiasm for sharing the music we loved so much; ordering trance CDs from the local "dealers" and spending hours on the slowest dial-up internet to download new tracks, waking up early in the morning to put up party posters and hand out party flyers to random passersby (who usually looked at us suspiciously) and playing music on all kinds of local venues for ridiculous/no fees. Some of that energy can also be felt in these mixes (especially the "Aggressive Mix") and the trance sound that was popular back then, speaking of which, I can definitely say that most of these tracks aged really well, at least in my book. Enjoy!
