„Lost Without You“ is about that quiet kind of goodbye — the kind that doesn’t make a scene but still leaves everything different. I started writing it thinking about a moment on a train platform, when someone leaves and you just stand there, not sure what to do with what’s left. The track blends soft, broken vocals with heavy, distorted drops – like holding it together on the outside while everything shifts underneath.

Written in the fog of indecision and despair, “Drowning in maybe” captures that limbo between leaving and holding on. I wasn’t sure if I’d make it out of that moment—so I turned it into music. This is what the in-between sounds like.

SHADOWS FADE AWAY

The Kandinsky Effect is often associated with synesthesia. Art, and music specifically, is able to convey meaning that defies language. Music is capable of capturing anything that is beyond understanding and render it tangible. What I appreciate about ambient music in particular, is its ability to freeze this moment of transcendence and stretch it out, so that it can induce the illusion of eternity. I am addicted to the sensation of uncovering bits and pieces of eternity while making music. Most artists I look up to are what I like to call 'mood makers': artists that have an overarching atmosphere that permeates all of their work. This is something that I hope to achieve with my music and it is the guiding principle in every art form through which I choose to express myself.

Hey there! I’m Phil Dutton, a music enthusiast, producer, composer, and singer from the UK. Alongside my long-time song writing partner, Les Corlett (who’s also an incredible vocalist—check out our older Caroda material!), we’re thrilled to have you here.

Our latest album, ‘BLACK ICE’ is now up on Soundcloud. It’s our sixth album in the last 20 months, and we’re genuinely proud of the tracks we’ve crafted together. We create all our music at home using Cakewalk on a trusty PC. I compose the songs, play all the instruments then record, mix and master them, Les sends me his incredible lyrics. between us we have written and produced hundreds of songs over the years. This is just the last couple of years worth.

Hello and welcome – I'm Simondark.

I've been creating music for nearly 40 years, driven by passion, curiosity, and a deep love for sound. As a self-taught drummer, I was heavily influenced by the iconic sound of the 1980s, which still echoes in my creative work today. At 15, I founded my first school band; at 16, I joined my first cover band – and from there, I played in various groups until I became part of Dementi.

Although Dementi didn’t achieve commercial success, we reached a major milestone with a record deal, producing several EPs and two full-length albums featuring my work as the band’s drummer.

In the late 2000s, I moved abroad, marking the end of my time with Dementi and the beginning of a new chapter. I pursued a degree in Digital Creative Media in Ireland and Austria, expanding my skills in sound design, video production, and creative technologies.

Since then, I’ve been working on independent music and visual projects, producing not only my own material but also collaborating with other artists. Special thanks to Nataliya Frenzel (@natalia-frenzel-926487266), whose piano compositions were a joy to produce and enrich.

I welcome collaborations with artists from all backgrounds. I believe in the power of diversity, experimentation, and mutual inspiration.
