Polaroïds du frère – (Fraternité en ruines, amour à voix basse) - Albin Michel

Un livre tendre et dur à la fois. Une tendresse au bord du gouffre.
Ce  gouffre laissé par l’absence d’un frère, par la perte, la culpabilité, le silence trop long, et l’amour trop tard. 
Grégoire Delacourt pose des mots d’un récit bouleversant : Polaroïds du frère, une longue lettre intérieure qu’un homme adresse à son frère mort. 
Est-ce un hommage ? Est-ce un appel ? Ou un passage obligé…
Avec des éclats de mémoire, des éclats de colère, des éclats d’amour, comme ces instantanés Polaroïd qu’on colle au mur de l’oubli pour s’interdire de trop vite effacer.
Ce récit, c’est celui d’un deuil impossible. C’est aussi une enquête intime : que s’est-il vraiment passé ? Pourquoi la solitude du frère est-elle devenue son cercueil ? Et pourquoi, surtout, trente années de silence entre deux êtres n’ont-elles jamais été réparées ?
Grégoire Delacourt met à nu la violence familiale, les silences en fratrie, les tragédies intimes que personne ne raconte, mais que tout le monde soupçonne. Et il le fait avec une langue précise, poétique, parfois cruelle, souvent bouleversante.


Polaroïds du frère n’est pas un récit comme les autres. C’est une traversée. Un recueil de douleurs figées sur le papier comme autant de clichés instantanés qu’on voudrait, parfois, ne pas avoir pris. Mais qui sont là. Inoubliables.


C’est une histoire de lien défait, de mots qui n’ont pas été dits, de larmes qu’on n’a pas montrées. Une tentative de comprendre après-coup, trop tard peut-être, mais sincère. Bouleversante.
On referme ce livre le cœur serré, habité par une seule question : si demain l’un de nos proches appelle, serons-nous au bout du fil ? Parce qu’à force de trop tarder, on finit toujours par parler à un silence
