“Who Invited the Postmaster General” is an innovative blend of Rock, Indie and Pop with melodic layers of Neo-psychedelic guitars.  Despite the genre blending, the song has an energetic and upbeat groove that reflects an undeniable pop sensibility while the indie guitars and rock beats are reminiscent of Ratatat and Two Doors Cinema Club.

Following the release of the indie-pop ‘Good Times’ in Apr 2025, the eclectic artist Keelan X is dropping ‘EVEN THOUGH IT’S SUMMER’ - an end-of-summer vibe in the thematic tradition of songs like the 80s classic ‘Boys of Summer’ by Don Henly or something more recent like ‘August’ by Taylor Swift.

‘EVEN THOUGH IT’S SUMMER’ alludes to carefree summer evenings, road trips, a bittersweet end-of-holiday romance and the approaching change in seasons. Speaking about the lyrics, Keelan explains: “You know when they put back-to-school ads on the telly and radio. I wanted to capture that mixture of feelings the winding-up of summer brings. I’m interested in that duality; the space between seasons, between hope and resignation, between connection and separation. It’s the ‘what ifs’ that drive narrative in our favorite movies, songs etc. So there’s a dollop of this in this song.”

The song has a breezy, feel-good energy – crisp beats, shimmering synths and a memorable vocal hook, fused with a melodic melancholy. Musically, the song is influenced by the likes of The 1975, Holly Humberstone, Mitski etc. “Some of my previous songs had a very synth-pop 80s vibe. I wanted this song to introduce some guitars again, albeit in a subtle way. Going forward, I want to explore recording as a live band again and get that live, four-people-in-a-room energy into the songs” says Keelan. 

The track was written Keelan X and co-produced by Alex O’Keefe and Julian Chown, with final mixing and mastering by Billy Foster. 

With his distinctive take on the genre, Keelan X has gained a plethora of press & media support to date ranging from RTE, 2XFM, FM104, Today FM, Hot Press, GOO Magazine and Sunday Times.

Over the years, Keelan Cunningham has had a conflicting relationship with his one true love: music. A former member of up-and-coming Irish band The Marigolds, the dissolution of the band had a profound effect on Keelan as he quickly fell out of love with the industry. With more than ten years passing without music in his life, the world-wide pandemic revitalised Keelan's creativity. Strapping on his Fender Telecaster and switching on an old Roland keyboard he began the process of writing and producing songs once again. The results were immediate and quickly culminated in the formation of his new project, Keelan X.  
Cherry picking approaches and styles of song craftmanship he had developed whilst playing in an array of bands over the years, the multi-instrumentalist set about writing a varied collection of songs. Keelan’s distinctive sound is borne out of his eclectic taste in music, taking influence from contemporary artists such as The War On Drugs, The Weekend, Sam Fender, The Academic and melding this wit

Amidst the lush Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, The Sleeping Cliffs unleash powerful soundscapes with amplifier feedback and pulsing bass drums. The music is a layered mosaic of fuzz drenched guitars, bombastic percussion, and vintage synths, melodically engineered as a turbine of soulful, rhythmic, electro-rock.  Todd Glidewell, the multi-instrumentalist behind the project, describes himself as “genre-fluid”, drawing from rock, indietronica, funk, soul, psychedelia, post-rock, and alternative. Wearing those diverse influences like a technicolor cape, his tracks consistently showcase a distinctive analog/electronic groove that defines The Sleeping Cliffs’ signature sound.
